Attracted by the excellent TripAdvisor reviews, we went there expecting an outstanding seafood dinner. But we didn't get it: except for my first dish which was quite good, the food was below average: my daughter's catch of the day didn't look fresh at all and my wife's salad was just plain. I guess we just weren't lucky, since the place... More

We were staying nearby & like sea-food & we were very happy with this choice of restaurant. The menu had sufficient choices. The staff were friendly, helpful, efficient & polite. The food was very tasty & well cooked & portions were adequate. The wines were very good complements. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable dinner in an excellent atmosphere.

We happened to eat there based on the suggestion of staff an the Palazzo Cast 1871. The food and wine were very good and the restaurant has a great location near the Ponte Vecchio. Furthermore it is not expensive.

The dining room was simply attractive, the wait staff was constantly on patrol looking for opportunities to help - a first class operation in that regard. It was the food that was a disappointment. We shared the tasting menu for two = 4 starters, pasta, a main course and dessert with wine for 120 euros including service charge. The best... More

I had a delicious meal with friends. The prices are not very high and the service and place is gorgeous. Wine list and food are good I would not say it is my favourite fish restaurant in florence although it is very nice

I discourage to reach the restaurant by car: Leave the car and go by walk otherwise it's a nightmare. The location is fantastic : it's in an ancient palace along the river side. Modern furniture contrasting with ancient building. The elegance of the ambient let you imagine a luxury restaurant, that is partially true. The service is under expectation and... More

We were enjoying a lovely stay in Florence, but fancied a fish meal as a change from trattoria fayre - delicious though it was. A quick internet search and we found the Bistro del Mare. Already highly recommended and 5 minutes walk from where we were staying. Easy to book on line too. We like to eat early so whilst... More

Great service to accompany excellent food. We shared 4 starters - rather than being plonked down together, they were served in a logical order so we could enjoy each one. The prawns were fantastic. Both fish and seafood was prepared well & fresh and there was a good wine list. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. Would... More
