We were recommended this deceptively cavernous restaurant tonight by our hotel after several others were too booked up. In the end, we were glad they were because the food at Coco Filippo was amazing. A mixed platter of various meats and tasters to share was thoroughly enjoyable and our main courses were beautifully presented and delicious. I personally found the... More

It had been a long day of sightseeing and we were hungry. My son and I got the short pasta bolonese and it was delicious. My daughter got the bread soup and she loved it! And I don't mean kinda loved it....she LOVED it. My husband enjoyed pasta with a truffle cream sauce with shaved truffles on top. That dish... More

The food was amazing. Very good price, was not expensive at all. The service was great and staff spoke English. Loved the atmosphere, it had a beautiful cave like feel to it. We enjoyed it so much, we went back for dinner the next evening.

When in season, go here and eat Truffels. It is their specialty and we loved it. Also perfect grilled meat. Locals come here as well to enjoy. Just 4 tables upstairs and more in the cellar.

We received the recommendation for this restaurant from a friend and we're so glad we did. The food was delicious--try the ribollita soup and the Florentine steak (don't if you don't like your meat REALLY rare-that's the traditional way and it would be insulting to them to ask for it to be done any differently). The atmosphere was more like... More

A great place with good food and a large wine selection. I had the lamb stew and my wife had the pork in basalmic sauce. Best of all, it's not on Rick Steves.

It's a great place - somewhat quirky in a basement, but fun. You can see the cooking going on and the family welcomes you warmly. We arrived a bit early before the atmosphere heated up, so go around 8.00. Truffle dishes were superb and the Florentine steaks a delight. Chocolate tart a real home-made treat.

Wow! We were happily surprised by the beautiful meal from this unassuming authentic Florentine gem! It was a recommendation from our hotel and i could not be happier! The prices were excellent considering the beautiful range of dishes we were served, a value packed wine list and hosts that were extremely helpful too, even though one of the staff was... More

This is a great place to introduce your friend or family to enjoy fresh truffle cuisine for the first time. I recommend that the fresh pasta they served is chewy and delicious unlike the factory made, as well as the Florence grill steak "bistecca alla fiorentina" is worth tasting if you could accept a little bit raw in the middle... We were looking for somewhere authentic to eat and so asked our hotel staff where they would eat and they suggested this place. We would have never found it otherwise as it's not in a very touristy area. We sat downstairs-- cozy atmosphere. Delicious food. Some of the dishes that we enjoyed were: prosciutto platter, tomato and bean soup, steak... More
