An Italian breakfast consists of coffee or cappuccino with a cornetto. I always have mine with orange juice so I decided to sit down at a table inside this simple but charming cafe. Sitting down means one usually has to pay an extra euro or two, but not here. The price is the same whether you decide to stand at... More

Lucky us, this wonderful morning stop is around the corner from our apartment in Florence. Fresh croissant and excellent coffee deliver by a most friendly person. Made our mornings smile.

This place is sandwiched between all the cliche, expensive tourist cafes on the square. This place had a more authentic Italian feel and all the other customers were locals. The breakfast was good and a decent price. Of course it's not as beautiful as the touristy cafes but when you're looking for a sandwich that doesn't cost eight euros then... More

It was a little cool outside but fleece were provided for those who wanted them, as well as patio heaters. The staff were non intrusive, the food fantastic and of course and unbeatable location.

Had a few minutes before going in to see David Stopped in here to get a drink and use bathroom. The sandwiches and pastries looked so great we had to order something to eat. Best tomato mozzarella pannini we had on the entire trip. Also had cappuccino. I have never seen a cup made so fast. The friendliest owners we... More

This is not a place that normally gets any recognition on review sites. It's totally nondescript, just another touristy cafe near the very crowded Academia. But really, there's more to this place. Run by husband and wife. Both speak impeccable English. They offer up sandwiches to go. Waters, colas and of course coffee. Seemed less expensive than most places with... More

We needed a quick meal, and found this close to our hotel. Here the waiter spoke understandable english and was really friendly. We decided to get some espressos and paninis, and we were pleasantly suprised. The coffee and food is not the best we've had, but at these prices and this location, it's well worth your money! Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
