We had 4 couples and were told by our guide that this was the best pizza in Florence. It had a great crust and was baked in a wood fired oven. The atmosphere is nothing great, but the food is worth it. Very reasonably priced.

My family and I walked into this place while visiting Florence. The place was half full during dinner time. The prices on the menu were reasonable and the food was very decent too. The server was a character and spoke only Italian with a high catchy pitch. And she is the one you must be careful with!!! We wanted to... More

We walked past one lunchtime and this little restaurant was packed, so we went back and booked a table for the next evening. We weren't disappointed. The food, simple but superb pasta & pizza menu, and the suggested wine & beers were all delicious, but what really made it unique was the host Micheala. She is an absolute star with... More

We went to Florence with my girlfriend, and between museums, churches and beatiful streets, it started raining and cold weather appeared. In our minds, pizza must be made in a logged heated oven, it need to have a thin crust and a lot of flavour. We never thought here this will become real. The pizza was outstanding, with the perfect... More

We were ushered in out of the rain to this warm and welcoming pizzeria. The owner was very helpful and we all made excellent choices. I really enjoyed the Ribolleto and will definitely look this place up again on my next visit.

We found this pizzeria by accident and we're made very welcome but the proprietor, Michaela. The traditional vegetable stew, ribollita, was delicious as were the pizzas. It was very good value for money as well. I would recommend it highly.

This pizzeria close to the Duomo is a typical medium priced place to eat. Our hostess Michaela was insistent that it was not a restaurant. The furnishings are basic but the food excellent especially the Tuscan vegetable stew Ribollita. We had a very reasonable priced bottle of Tuscan Red wine too. They coped for a party of nine efficiently. Good... More

We got a warm welcome from Micheala the owner who is very attentive and suggested the homemade vegetable stew which was very reasonably priced and tasty. The pizza was also lovely and it was all made more enjoyable by the lovely host who has/had a thing for David Bowie and is passionate about her great little restaurant. Great place for... More

I had a decent pizza here for lunch. Not the best I've ever had, not the worst either. Service was friendly and fairly quick, and the price was OK for a tourist area. There seem to be two places called 'Pizzeria Toto' in the area, I went to the one in Via Sant'Elisabetta, just a couple of minutes south of... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
