I live across the street from Il Latini and every night the smell of burning meat has be drooling... This is a great place for bistecca fiorentina - Florentine steak. They have other roast meats (chicken, lamb, pork, etc.) and, of course, "trippa fiorentina". I would also recommend their beans and sausage - Tuscan comfort food. The bistecca fiorentina is... More

Went here for a break after lots of walking through beautiful Florence and it was good choice! Had a good cappuccino with some cheesecake and tortino - oh the deliciousness of that chocolate cream! Good service too and seemed to be a place where the locals went too which is usually a good thing.

Great spot in the heart of Florence! Alessio manages perfectly this cafe, which is a great choice for an Italian breakfast or anche aftenoon the. Dishes available for. Lunch are good, fresh, healthy and the service is perfect. I also recommend the pastries.

Stumble on to this place just get out the heat. Turns it had some of the best little sandwiches. They also had a bunch out to sample. Other treats there were really good as well. Place was very clean and staff very nice.

We loved both visits to this cafe. It was a few doors down from where we were staying and was perfect for breakfast or for picking up a coffee mid morning. Prices are especially reasonable if you're taking out.

Was right across the street from the apartment we rented for a week. My husband and I went there every morning for a cappucino (great), and my mom and aunt went for breakfast a few times (they had breakfast fritattas that they really enjoyed). Very casual, they had a beautiful display case of sandwiches and pastries, and a full bar... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
