We came upon this place by accident, but we were blown away by the quality of the food and service. I had one of the beat pastas I have ever had, staff was also very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend it to anyone exploring Florence.

We discovered Ristorante Paoli 4 or 5 years ago following the suggestion of our hotel front desk. He revealed us the origin of this location and the quality of the actual restaurant. We highly appreciated his advice . After so many years ,re-visiting Florence we re-discovered Ristorante Paoli,in the same beautiful ,amazing place on via Tavolini. Food , wine and... More

Just go here!!! Amazing Florentine steak and wine. Great service and a 200 year old restaurant in a building built in the 1036. Best food we've had in our 5 days in Italy.

Rarely am I rewarded for breaking the rules - smack in the middle of the tourist zone and stunning interior of panelling and frescos lies a fine dining establishment. The vibe was special so I took a chance. The bread was standard for the local restaurant scene but the gnocchi with Gorgonzola, cream and sage exceeded my own best lifetime... More

We lunched here as it is reputed to be the oldest restaurant in Florence. The décor is amazing - vaulted ceilings and tiles with coats of arms. Wood panelled benches and frescoes complete the picture. Service was prompt and patient. Salads made to order and dessert trolley to the table. Wine by the glass was good and baskets of bread... This was recommended by our dear friends at the St. Regis in Florence. Great food and service. Super quaint setting with a spiral staircase that takes you up to the bathroom... After a few drinks this was a bit harder to access:) Our waiter was very helpful and fun. I had Bistecca alla Fiorentina which was great and a delicious... More

This is an excellent choice for a meal in Venice. We stayed at a hotel near by and ate there two times; varied menu with good service; some locals and tourists; sophisticated customers. Can't go wrong here. It isn't five star dining, but we weren't looking for that. I would rate it much better than average but not Michelin, but... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
