We had the 6 course tasting menu but swapped in the foie gras starter and deconstructed cheesecake. It was all fantastic but hilights were: +The incredible foie gras +The lamb +The risotto with caviar and crunchy broccoli The wine pairing was excellent. Service was great too and almost everyone spoke very good English. We had a little trouble getting a... More

Following an experience never to be repeated with the 3 star restaurant in Florence, we, last minute in Valentine's Day, sought a table here. The staff couldn't have been more charming the ambience was wonderful, and the food was splendid. The tasting menu we had was both innovative and delicious, the lack of a meat course was novel and might... More

This place was a disappointment. I booked for lunch to celebrate our anniversary with the clear intention to go with their lunchtime EUR 55 pp menu. If this was not available, it should not be advertised at all. As it turned out, we were THE ONLY people in the restaurant which was already strange as who appeared to be a... More

I had a dinner with 3 business associates and we had the pleasure to enjoy the 8 course manner. What we got was the most exceptional dinner in 12 courses of a trielt outstanding and exceptional quality and taste sensation. The goose liver Creme brûlée and its condiments was a real food sensation. The two main fish courses very different... More

During my brief staying in Florence I had the chance to dine in this special location. Every dish is a real piece of art and the service is absolutely perfect. I particualrly appreciate the attention in the choice of the ingredients and their combination. When I will come back to Florence I will come back! Thank you.

Just enjoyed a perfect lunch in luxuriously comfortable surroundings in a great location. Staff friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. Selection of food from the Tasting Menu was sublime. Inspired combinations indicate an extremely talented and imaginative Chef and brigade who are not afraid of pushing boundaries. Flavour sensations that burst on the palette using ingredients that are true to their regional... More

The food is as good as it gets. My favorites were the pastas. The taglierini with seafood and chili pepper in particular. The pepper and other ingredients linger in the mouth like a fine wine with pepper notes. I had to go back the next night and have it again, twice. I remember and crave for this dish days after.... We spent 3 weeks in Spain and Italy, and this was probably the best dinner we had. All the courses were beautifully and delicately prepared and the open kitchen and limited seating offered a great ambiance. Some Michelin restaurants are over-rated, this is not one of them. Worth every penny and amazing every moment.

Amazing experience that made my 30th birthday unforgettable. Would recommend the wine pairing. The signature dishes were incredible! Beautiful setting for an amazing restaurant!

At La Bottega del Buon Caffe we have been producing seasonal authentic Florentine dishes for years. Yet, our new location in the heart of Florencce marks the start of a new era as the La Bottega team launch a selection of exciting new organic and gourmet concepts. In collaboration with the restaurant's new owners, Claus and Jeanette Thottrup, La Bottega del Buon Caffe's head chef, Antonello Sardi, has successfully developed fresh and innovative gourmet menus which are now available both at lunch and dinner and which have earned him his first Michelin Star. With the emphasis on natural locally sourced ingredients, La Bottega offers authentic Tuscan food that creatively combines the best of classic and contemporary cuisine. Authenticity and honesty is at the heart of all we create at La Bottega and our menus are created individually according to the season. Today's catch of fresh fish is delivered from the Mediterranean daily, free-range meats are supplied by local artisan farmers and our vegetables, fruit, herbs and honey are bought from our farm in the country. Respecting our Florentine location our menus are designed to reflect the region's unique gastronomic heritage and vibrant culinary culture.

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
