Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just arrived in Florence and we were looking for a late lunch. In spite of it being 14:30, they kindly kept the kitchen open. I had Pappardelle with wild boar ragu and my wife had a gorgeous fillet steak, cooked to perfection. We highly recommend...this restaurant and we will probably go back during our 3 day trip.More

We were determined to eat away from the major tourist attractions. We walked from Piazza di Madonna along a narrow street; Via Faenza, where we found the best Trattoria in Florence. This was a lovely boutique trattoria with maybe 10 tables. We completely lucked out...and were seated without a reservation. Every person after us had to have a reservation This was truly a culinary experience. I had the eggplant parm, ribbon pasta with shredded meat sauce, my dinner companion had the ravioli. The house red was awesome. Not wanting this meal to end, we ordered dessert, tiramisu and cheesecake. I cannot recommend this enough. Make sure to book a reservation.More

Lovely little Trattoria. We had pasta, meatballs and fried chicken - all delicious. The house wine was great. Highly recommend and good value. Worth booking as it's only small and gets busy.

Absolutely delicious! Felt like family owned home cooking! food was absolutely amazing got ravioli Ragu, meatballs, and pasta with wild boar sauce. All extremely good!!! Best place we ate at in Florence and the street it’s on is very lively in the evening. House wine...was amazing and tiramisu for dessert was the best I’ve ever had. Excellent restaurant.More

Sometimes the stars align, the first night we went to Trattoria Antichi Cancelli was one such time. We were very lucky the first night as we didn't have a reservation, which we made sure we did have for the follow-up evening. The waiter allowed us...to sit down anyway and we felt very lucky already to have a table, there was great anticipation in the air. There was a young waiter serving everyone and he was amazing at his job. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies so he suggested we cut one or two dishes out and he was absolutely right. All the food was good, on both nights we went. We tried different things the second night. The stand out dish was the traditional Pork. This is such a subtle and delicious dish. It looks like it could be too strong but it wasn't. It was moist, tasty, sweet, savory and well worth trying. All the food was good, I guess a surprise was the eggplant starter so it deserves to be tried. We had the house wine, made the choice easy, first night red, second night white. What appeared to be locals were selecting wines from the list and these seemed very good, they seemed to know what they wanted. The restaurant is close to the Duomo , maybe a 3 -4 minute walk. I'd suggest making a reservation, even though it looks like tables are empty, you may find yourself turned away and that would be unfortunate. Throughout the night, many people were turned away due to no reservation. The lady next to us (who was a chef) asked for cheese on her pasta and was strongly told no, no this is not possible, in a good way - so don't ask for cheese.More

Since it was situated just accross our hotel and the receptionist gave us a recommendation for bistecca alla fiorentina, we decided to give it a try. And did not regret it! Delicious meal, good house chianti and very hospitable staff made our evening memorable.

Lovely welcome. Easy to book. Great service and beautifully cooked food. A limited menu enables them to serve fresh food that is hot and tasty. Just off the main tourist area and well worth seeking out. Best meal we had in Florence.

This was a tiny but popular little restaurant near Central Mercado. Friendly and helpful owner took our orders. We had the Pici with duck sauce and the Florentine steak. It was very tasty.

Really authentic little place, good food, nice service. Price/Quality top, which is unusual for the central part of the city. We'll come again.

Very strict about the 'not open until 7pm' policy. And though we were there at 7 we got the last available table - it gets busy! Home made pasta with 'Mom's sauce', very good 'home made' cooking, local ingredients, tastes and menus. Bottle of Chianti...Ruffino 'on the table' waiting for you at 16 Euros. A bargain! The evening we were there it was full of groups of men - working on things in Florence. Would certainly eat here again.More

Myself and my husband stumbled upon here after a couple of dodgy tourist meals in around Florence, this was lovely and authentic and had some very unusual pasta dishes e.g. pear and pistachio ravioli which was just amazing! Prices were so reasonable and the staff...lovely, would highly recommend!More

Came for the amazing reviews, stayed for the prices. It’s not “the best food in Italy”, you’ll know if you’ve eaten at any local or high quality restaurant. But, I was struggling with finding somewhere to eat fast and not wanting to pay a lot....The pasta was doughy and heavy, not very flavorful. Great service though! Three stars is not to say its a bad place, just average. Don’t believe all the 5 star reviews, they’re all from American tourists who’ve never eaten anything but pasta from a box. But I did love the wine!More

Neat small restaurant on a smallish street near the train station. We went there based on other Trip advisor reviews. Pasta was very good, portions were generous. I thought the bruchetta was very fresh and tasty. They had a fixed price combination of a glass...of wine, a water, a bruchetta app and a choice of two pastas for 10 euro - quite reasonable. They also had a fixed price dinner for a Florentine steak for 20 euro but we did not try that. Service was exemplary.More

My wife and I stumbled upon this little, beautiful trattoria: great atmosphere, delicious & authentic food, fantastic wine and top-notch customer service. Claudia was the best host and made our honey moon special. Super experience, recommended to anybody spending time in Firenze!
