We had a wonderful evening with incredible food at this gem. My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers and entrees. The server and owner, Leo, was attentive and warm. Even better, it was a great value and only a few blocks from our place near the Duomo! We would definitely return in the future. Very happy we went... More

Recommended by our young concierge for dinner and it proved a good choice. Just beyond the chaos of the Duomo district, up a quiet street and easy to miss. Our food was good rather than special, the atmosphere was warm, but the lights were too low. Our waiter & waitress were welcoming & helpful and the Nero d'Avola was perfect.... More

Had a fantastic meal here. Bread with whipped butter spread (w arugula) was delicious. Our main courses were great! There were several little free touches that made it a nice evening. ( Presecco to start the meal, nice after dinner drink). For Desert we had the most delicious cheesecake I've had in years... a must try if it's on the... More

The staff was very welcoming and we were poured a glass of Prosecco upon arrival. My husband and I both had beef dishes he had a fillet and I had a peppery beef. Both were well executed, my only wish was that there was more options on the menu, there were only six choices for dinner. A great choice near... More

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcomed by our waitress. This was a birthday meal so we really went for it and enjoyed all the food (and drink!). Relaxed and informal but also felt really special, we wouldn't hesitate to return.

It's a cosy little restaurant with few tables on street level and some more in the basement. The service is friendly and yet the food is just about average; definitely too pricey. If you don't mind the noisy environment in the market hall, you'll find better dishes there.

We have visited Florence several times and have found several restaurants which we like, but this is our favorite. Wonderful food, very friendly and helpful service, and a delightful atmosphere, especially in the basement. In addition, for Florence the prices are very reasonable. We are looking forward to returning!

Very nice restaurant if a little pricey. Good food, small portions, presentation was lovely. Service was exceptional. Nice house red wine. For the money you can do better.

This little restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, we would never have noted it otherwise, even though it is right across the street. It was so good, we went back for another dinner. We had the Tuscan menu and the Vegetarian menu the first night and there was almost too much food. The second time we had the... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
