Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Loved it. Very intimate and full of locals. Service was great and flavors were extraordinary. We had the potatoe cheese and mushrooms for antipasti and it was surprisingly good. Florence steak was well cooked and with great flavor, you’ll want to get all the meat...off the bone. The risotto is a must.. Plus house wine and the concept of drink what you pay for it’s amazing.More

This was the worst meal I ate in Florence! We were served staled potatoes of at least three to 4 days old! Cold and chewy with fridge taste. Potatoes for the bin. The rest of the meal was very very average. The tripe was nothing...to rave about but it was ok. The picci were definitely not homemade and fresh and only three little pieces of guanciale in the sauce and the risotto was quite tasteless as well. It was a waste of a meal in Florence. The only nice thing was the decor, but you will find a nice decor in all the Trattorias around Florence. Make sure you give Due G a miss.More

You're absolutely wasting your money if you go anywhere else. Great steaks, great food, great wine, great prices. A bit stingy on eggplant and Zucchini side dish but cheap enough to order two. Make sure you have a reservation as locals dine there, too.

We visited twice, first for the florentine steak which was so good we went back. Close to SMN Station so handy if you are coming into the city. The house chianti at about 20e for 1.5 litres is great value. Service attentive, good value. Typical...Tuscan trattoria fare. Recommended.More

Where to even begin......Italy was always a dream to go to and when it finally happened, we wanted everything as traditional as possible especially when it came to food. Our hotel recommend Trattoria i Due G and from what we had seen online and by...walking past, it had everything we was looking for. The restaurant itself is very traditional and we loved the fact it was on the smaller side, we found that the service you received was far more personal compared to some of the larger restaurants. The staff were extremely polite and very welcoming, it felt like you were being invited into a friends home. The staff were extremely helpful as well and nothing was too much trouble, they are really happy to recommend things from the menu as well. Some may find it strange that there was no music playing but this was a positive for us, it means you can hear everyone enjoying themselves and taking in each others company. We loved the decor of the restaurant, so many different photos on the wall gave the restaurant real character. The menu for me was a breathe of fresh air, there weren't pages and pages of choices, which is perfect for me as I can be quite indecisive so to have a limited menu was spot on. The best thing about this, you know everything is freshly made and once it is gone, it is gone. The food itself....WOW!!!! You could tell how fresh the ingredients were, you could tell it was very recently made and you could tell the passion and love that went into the dish, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and the taste was just incredible, such simple ingredients but stunning dishes. Even the wine gets our thumbs up, Chianti was our choice and we didn't steer away from this, being local to the region as well made it an easy choice, delicious in taste and very easy to drink. The price you could not go wrong with, so, so reasonable considering what you are paying for and worth every single penny. We visited other restaurants during our stay as we felt it was good to try other places but this is the one we were always drawn back to and although there is a huge amount of choice in Florence, why would you go anywhere else when you have everything you want in 1 place. We are planning on returning next year and I know for a fact, we will no doubt spend a lot more time here. Everything and everyone from Trattoria i Due G hold special places in our hearts as they really help make our holiday and we cannot wait to return!More

The staff was not welcoming. The food followed suit and could only be described as suitable for substanence not for enjoyment. We tried several appetisers, risotto, lasagne, veal and side dishes. Some were left due to not being really edible rest were just sad. My...family is not a fan of fast food but all agreed we should have gone to burger king round the corner for much much better value. Really do not recommend. Save your money to a restaurant that deserves it.More

Comfortable restaurant just off the busy streets of Florence's rail station area. We wandered upon it by accident and liked the look of the menu, so we booked a table for the following night. It looks like a locals place that gets its share of...the tourism business but never strays from what it does best and that is their exceptional menu. We started with penne and rabbit ragout which was rich and delicious and left us wanting more. The vegetable and bread soup is not to be missed! We also tried the woodgrilled veal chop and the egg noodles in truffle and cream sauce. Easily, one of the best things we had in Florence and the best pasta dish anywhere. Dessert? The nougat parfait was another level of delicious and the panna cotta with rosemary (I know, it sounds weird but I dare you to not finish it) was one of the best desserts of my life. Simple but memorable. I very highly recommend this place- I would certainly return here anytime I found myself in Florence. One of its best restaurants and so happy to have found it.More

That's our favorite typical trattoria in Florence, away from the touristy sections but close to the train station. Wonderful traditional food and a very nice staff. Andrea is always excellent, ready to help and suggest! It was our fifth time in 7 years that we...visit the place and we are always very satisfied!More

We really enjoyed our visit here on our last night in Florence. The T-bone was featured on the menu cover, so we knew we must try it. It was a large portion- the perfect size for our daughters to share. We also enjoyed our lasagna,...sliced steak, and pici pasta. The caprese salad was the best I have ever had- the tomatoes were perfection. And we capped our meal off with a delicious tiramisu. The staff was friendly, and we felt like the only Americans in the restaurant. We took that as a good sign that the locals enjoy this spot. A perfect ending to a great Florence vacation.More
