Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Let me start by saying the view is spectacular. We entered and we were one of the first to arrive. We had reservations for 7:30pm. The wait staff were so professional and attentive. The food was just as spectacular as the views. I allowed our...waiter to order the wine and he picked well. This is a MUST when in Florence.More

My wife and I walked from Duomo to Fiesole and boy it was a workout!! We loved it, seeing the unique houses and gardens along the way up but it will physically give you a challenge! It was over 3 miles up and the elevation...is 1000 feet. Once in Fiesole the views are spectacular. You must visit Reggie for a meal. Excellant wine and drinks food is outstanding call ahead and reserve a spot on outside patio for the views. Loved this restaurant and cannot recommend it higher.More

I ate here years ago and have remembered it very fondly as one of the most special meals ever. The setting is pure magic and the food was great. Time passes, the world changes, and La Reggia stays firmly stuck in a time warp. In...2001, this restaurant felt, and possibly was, truly special. In 2023, La Reggia is little more than a ridiculously over-priced tourist trap. The food isn't bad, but there is not an ounce of creativity in any of the dishes. Heavy, truffle-laden everything predominates, food that could only be loved by a cardiologist desperate to operate on his next bloated patient. It all felt a bit gross. Even the lighting (outdoor fluorescent) is off. Way off. How sad that something that could be so special has become so very ordinary. The sommelier, after I requested quality wines at a fair/low price, directed me to bottles at $350. Not ok. I protested and we ended up with a superb Super-Tuscan for $80. High marks there, but I should not have had to wrestle him to the selection. The staff is under-educated about the food, a bit gritty in presentation (all wear casual shoes and over-sized black t-shirts) and throw silverware in front of you without caring where it lands. Five stars???? You're joking. You'll have a better meal buying groceries at the nearby Coop and making it yourself. I rarely give bad reviews, but feel obligated on this one.More

This restaurant has the best view of Florence and the surrounding countryside. It is well worth the cab ride or the bus ride from Florence. The food was excellent . We had the ravioli and Florentine steak. We were concerned that the climb from the...plaza would be too steep for our 80 year old bodies. However, the owner sent a car to ferry us up the hill. This was one of the highlights of our visit to Florence. Do not miss it.More

TOP views, nice interior and great atmosphere. However our dinner was a bit disappointing, because I thought this restaurant had top1 food in Fiesole based on the reviews. Service was good, but similar to rest of the restaurants in the area. My main course was...the steak which had tryffels on it, but it was quite average and had zero salt to my surprise. Other main courses might be better. Rest of dishes I ate very okay, but the food seems to be 3-4/5 so for top food I recommend going down to Firenze. For overall experience this is a solid choice, but not for the food enthusiasts.More

We were fortunate to spend Christmas lunch at Ristorante La Reggia Fiesole (Dec 2022). We had read the reviews prior to coming and we had high expectations and my goodness did the restaurant deliver AND much more! The atmosphere was fantastic, staff were exceptional, although...it was a set menu the staff did everything to cater for our fussy 13 yr old son. AND the food!!!! Where do I start, it was magnificent, delicious and we could not eat it all (it was a seven course meal). I haven’t even mentioned the view!!!!! The view is spectacular and one of the most breathtaking views in Tuscany. NB: you do have to walk a steep walkway to get there but trust me it is well worth the trip. We drove and found a parking on the high street easy.More

There’s a real buzz about this place, which was packed with local families enjoying a splendid Sunday lunch. We were made very welcome even though our ageing appetites weren’t quite up to the customary four courses, including large amounts of meat that are par for...the course in Tuscany. The whole experience, including a terrific bottle of red wine, more than compensated for the steep climb up the hill from the piazza in Fiesole. If you can get a booking, don’t hesitate to visit La Reggia degli Etruschi when in Florence, highly recommended.More

My wife and I decided we wanted to get outside of the tourist areas of Florence so we rented a Vespa and headed to Fiesole for sunset. We then hiked all the way up and decided to stop by La Reggia on the way down...for an Aperol Spritz....which then turned into a full dinner. We had the florentine steak and truffle pasta and wow! We were not expecting the level of food and service we received here. If anyone is looking for an idea for a romantic night...grab a Vespa and head on up to Fiesole with dinner at La Reggia. It doesn't get anymore authentically Italian.More

We were looking forward to this dinner very much. It’s a challenging location to reach yet we knew it would be worth it. Unfortunately our server didn’t care for us, possibly because we don’t speak Italian, I’m unsure. The back of his shirt read “support”…was...he an actual server? We have dined in many countries and greatly enjoy food/drink and I can easily say this was the worst service we’ve experienced. It was so obvious that both of my teenagers quickly picked up on it and wondered why we were being treated as we were. Also, we would have ordered twice the amount of food and drink if the server had been more attentive and didn’t walk away when we tried to speak with him. Super huge bummer. Oh but I do have to say we had a very lovely table. What a view. And the restaurant itself is sooo cute, the pictures online don’t do it justiceMore
