The " 5 e 5" is a classic food from Livorno city. It looks like a sandwich. Inside is a tradicional chick peas pizza that you will not found in other place in the world. This restaurante is just a classic in Livorno but for a Fast eating. No tables.

There is no better torta or cinque e cinque than Toreria de Gargarin. I always look forward to going and it is always perfect! Hands down the best place to go to enjoy a simple, delicious treat of torta!

When I was a teenager the current boss was a little girl that helped her dad "il Gagarin" named thus because he was like most Livornesi a fervent communist. There are many good torta places in Livorno, which makes the best torta in the world. The similar dish made in Pisa which they call cecina or in Genoa where they... More

Nobody really speaks English but the people at the Torteria really try there hardest to make you feel at home. They have a big sign on the wall that describes the historic and regional significance of the chick peas dish that it is famous for. This is a fast food good for a snack or small meal. It is very... A must if visiting Livorno. Good quality traditional Livornese food at a great price. I bring all my friends from out of town here whenever they visit. I recommend getting the '5 e 5 con melanzane e pepe' and don't forget to grab a bottle of spuma to wash it down the authentic way!

Torteria da Gargarin is not easy to find. No name on the outside that we could see, but search it out! We ended up having to ask a policeman. Full of locals, there to eat the 5X5, a chickpea sandwich with eggplant. There are other options, but I can't imagine they are better than the one we tried.

The premise here is a garlic and chickpea sandwich served with focaccia. Would highly recommend the 5&5. Lots of locals and a small menu can only be a good thing!
