After an 8 year absence, we returned for lunch to La Torre while visiting Siena. As with our last visit, our meal was outstanding. I had the cingale, which was appropriately rich, with a great sauce and made with their always fresh pasta. The rest of our party had other pastas, all terrific, and the veal second course was also... More

This trattoria is in Rick Steve's Italy book so considering that half of North America has probably traipsed through there, it was surprisingly good. We had the bistek Florentine with the house vino rosso. No menu, we had a conversation with the owner and his teenage daughter, and they fixed us up. The wine comes out of a big barrel... More

My favorite pasta on my 10 day trip to Italy was at this restaurant. I had their ricotta/spinach ravioli with butter and sage sauce. We liked the pasta so much that we ordered 2 more servings to share between the four of us (we have never done that!) A "casual" restaurant with a good price point. Highly recommended. Just steps... My wife and I first ate here in 1985 and loved it then and every trip to Siena since. There is no written menu. Some family member comes to your table with a "proposal" for you to choose from several primos and secondos of the day, each more delicious than the other. The wine is local and the atmosphere traditional/casual.... More

Lunch here on the recommendation of our guide for the day. It was hard to decide what we wanted to eat so the waitress suggested we order multiple dishes "family style". We did and everything was quite good. The kitchen is right in front of you which was kind of cool. Enjoyable lunch with good food.

Our friends were here last month. Like us, they toured the whole country of Italy and said this was their best meal. It was for us as well! It is small, but each course was excellent. It was priced similar to the street food, but the taste was much, much better. Don't miss this wonderful gem! It is located immediately... More

Went here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. Arrived to be ignored by the staff who were too busy cleaning glasses to attend to guests. When we tried to get their attention we were barked at. We left without eating. Lots of much better, more welcoming places in Siena.

Maybe we were out of luck, but pasta we ordered was absolutely tasteless. The worst meal we had during 2 weeks stay in Italy.

We had a very simple, but delicious meal at La Torre. Pici con pecorino and tagliatelle al funghi to start, followed by roast pigeon and roast chicken, with white beans and insalate mista for contorni (sides). The roast pork and bistecca we saw on other tables looked great. The small open kitchen was about the size of our kitchen at... More
