Delicious restaurant, genuine local food, charming atmosphere and good value for money. Steak done to perfection without having to ask for it, great osso buco, delicate pear desert.

The restaurant is slightly away from main piazza, but has plenty of character within its walls! Excellent service, family style run restaurant, lovely traditional style menu. We started with sides of spinach, then white beans with sage, and they were both extremely good, then Osso Bucco, the traditional Ribollita soup, and caprese salad, drunk with house red and white. The... More

We ate at Medio Evo in Assisi earlier this evening and wanted to write this review as soon as we got back to the hotel. The food was wonderful - I had the mixed grill and mixed vegetables, and we started with a wonderful pheasant tortellini. My wife had Chicken with Capers, Sage and Lemon. We absolutely loved the cuisine.... More

Early dinner meant we were first in the restaurant, sitting in the brick clad dining room rather than outside. Good friendly service and good Tuscan menu choices. The carpaccio of swordfish had a slight orange flavour to it which added a nice twist. Tuscan sauce, wild boar I think, was nicely balanced and great with the pasta noodles. The ossobuco... More

Just a few blocks away from the main piazza in Siena lies this hidden gem, tucked underneath a stairway. It's a lot more quiet in this restaurant, which has terrific ambience - encased in stones and bricks - and seemingly run by an older family couple. Most importantly, the food was simply amazing. I had heard you can't beat the... More

Great typical food from Siena, including the desserts. Not expensive and not touristical. I'd definetely return there.

This little gem is an understated masterpiece just behind the Piazza del Campo. The food is great and the welcome is genuine. Certainly won't break the bank. There is an added mystery .......underground caverns! Don't miss it!

We went on a late evening and we found a good choice of typical Tuscan cooking, with a limited but valid wine selection. The pici al ragu were excellent as well as the meats. Not to miss the well presented dessert. A good option.

This is a place to relax and recharge your batteries. If you are looking to wolf down a quick meal while racing between sites, don't bother. But, if you want to take some time and be treated like an honored guest while eating great food, drinking superb wine and enjoying lite jazz, don't miss this one.

If in Assisi this restaurant is a must. Pleasant, good Italian food, great admosphere, just an enjoyment for a real Italian meal of 3 to how many courses you want. Enjoy great wines and Take a Grappa in between for the necessary endowment.

Thank mountainst
