Pleasant lunch in rustic Italian surroundings , no tv, no music. €40 for two buys a 2 course meal with local wine , water & coffees . No written menu . First course antipasti plate of cold cut meats with a little cheese , side dish of tomatoes with haricot beans in a vinaigrette. Second course a huge plate of... More

We dropped in for an evening meal and were so pleased we did. Excellent local food and wine. The food is made in the restaurant's kitchen. Despite our lack of Italian we had fun using animal noises to decipher the menu and communicate with the owner, lots of laughter. A great meal, and, as the rain came down (we had... More

We tasted tagliatelle with truffle and mushrooms that were delicious , wonderful cold cuts appetizer and great house red wine . Cherry pie was amazing and so was the local digestive liquor , service is great and so is the hospitality 👍👍👍👍.

The food is excellent quality, locally sourced, home made, and fantastic! The service is quick and friendly, and the gorge in which it's located is a wonderful location for a lunch or dinner. I can't say enough about the whole experience! If your Italian is up to snuff, take some time to chat with the owners. Their charm and good... More

Simple, small, no pretensions, very fresh homemade food, delicious antipasti dishes, overall quantities that were laughably large, a congenial host who recommended and helped us choose from the few and simple choices, a good house red wine and the best crescia we've tasted in Gubbio. Great tagliatelle with tartufo nero, good grilgiata mista, and their house-made digestivo/amaro was so good... More

We had an excellent time at Osteria Del Bottaccione! It was our first night in Gubbio and we stumbled upon this gem not knowing they specialised in Lamb dishes.. (We are vegetarian..!!) But still, the hostess was so kind and welcoming and made our experience very special. The food was absolutely delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening!

It was well worth the short (ten-minute) stroll from the city centre to this disarmingly straightforward restaurant, a million miles from the identikit tourist-oriented restaurants that abound even in Gubbio. We were made to feel at home immediately by the proprietors' daughter, who rearranged the tables in the covered outside eating area to accommodate us among the (mostly local) clientele.... More

In all honesty, we chose this restaurant because of a previous TripAdvisor review and we were not disappointed. Our hostess, the daughter of the Chef owner, was delightful and accommodating (and her English was excellent). She recommended house specialties and we followed her lead. Everything was delicious - from the antipasti, to the homemade pasta with truffles and mushrooms, to... More

As a geologist such as myself this restaurant would have to try hard to be poor, being so close as it is to the key geological boundary between the Cretaceous and the Paleocene, which Lous Alvarez used to determine the extinction of the dinosaurs was due to an asteroid impact. As such the Restaurant at the End of the Epoch... More

A visit to Gubbio is not complete without a visit to this wonderful restaurant. I have been coming to Osteria del Bottaccione for over 10 years now. It's always the highlight of my trips to Gubbio...the food is beyond fantastic and the Biancarelli family who owns the restaurant is incredibly welcoming. I will always be grateful that my first introduction... More
