Late call from friends as reserve attendees to a table booked at Purefoy Arms. Having never heard of it I had to visit Google and I'm glad I did. We had a really lovely evening, drinks, driver and then a great taster menu choice. This...was very good Indeed. Mark chose some wines to suit and Gordon, the chef, made sure we knew what we were eating. My only grumble is that dark chocolate gives me migraine and, as so often, there was no alternative to that course. But it in no way distracted from what was a delicious meal in a lovely (posh) Pub.More

Fantastic place for family celebration. The Purefoy Arms was a brilliant venue, the team could not have been more helpful, and the food was outstanding.

We had a wonderful lunch today. We are visiting from Australia and had lunch with my Mum and Dad. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. We experienced brilliant customer service and delicious food. We had extra special artichoke and truffle soup. On...leaving we were given a chocolate truffle. Everything was very well presented. We were all very happy with our experience and highly recommend you. We will definitely be back.More

Four of us went for a birthday lunch in April. The atmosphere in this pub is great and the decor most pleasing. The village itself is really beautiful. A really lovely place to visit. With the exception of my beef burger all the food was...well received. The burger, unfortunately, was materially overcooked - as were the chips. My wife particularly thought the chicken breast was outstanding. - as were all the starters. The service, however, is dreadfully slow. It took two and a half hours for us to complete a three course lunch! Would I go again? Perhaps but not too soon!More

We came across The Purefoy having taken a wrong turn in Alresford looking for somewhere for lunch! We passed a couple of pubs and they did not "look right" but this one did, and we were very pleasantly surprised on entering. We received a warm...welcome and an inviting menu, spoilt for choice! Not only was our snack lunch tasty, it was accompanied by a very pleasant soup, and two delicious chef made chocolates as we left as well. We travelled on, extremely happy with our superb find. Quite how there can be any poor reviews is beyond us. It deserves what is by far the best rating, 5*More

It was the good reviews on Tripadvior that originally led me to book the Purefoy Arms. This was my second visit with my husband and some friend, and once again the food was fabulous, I had the spicy sweet potato soup which came with warm...bread followed by the breast of chicken and then the nicest toffee pudding. The staff are very polite and efficient, the restaurant & pub are very well decorated and the toilets very clean. I will be booking again soon.More

Such a beautiful little local pub, the atmosphere was lovely, relaxed and calm. The food was delicious! The onglet of beef with truffle croquet being the highlight for me. All the staff were attentive and efficient, a nice touch that the chef served our food...(I think they may have been short staffed) but it was a lovely extra touch I think, even if it was an accident. We will be back for sure!More
