Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had only one dinner in Geneva and we couldn't have asked for a better one than at Les Armures! The food, the service, the atmosphere - it was really a great evening. We had a creme celery soup for starter, filet mignon for main...dish and ice cream for dessert - and everything was delicious. In spite of the restaurant being fully booked, the service was beyond expectations. Jerome - who helped us this evening - spoke excellent English, recommended very good wine for the dishes, had great energy - and just made this evening very enjoyable. Thank you Les Armures for such a great night at your restaurant!More

Simply outstanding. First if all is the location, right in the middle of the old city. The atmosphere within the restaurant is welcoming and intimate. Then there is the staff - all charming, happy to help and very efficient. Finally, the food - fondue stunning...! All in all a lovely experienceMore

My husband & I, together with friends, had lunch here today. We had their cheese fondue & salad du doucette. It was phenomenal. Our waiter, Stephen, was accommodating & friendly. What a great 1st time experience to taste the famous cheese fondue in Switzerland.

Mid-week dinner This place seems popular with tourists staying in the Armures hotel and people exploring the area (mostly shopping). Its a traditional dark wood setting, perfect for your raclette dish. Prices are typical of the Geneva area, see website. There is limited seating space...outside if you want to brave the February weather. Lots of waiters available, service was quick in all areas.More

We were delighted that they could squeeze us in for an hour slot as they were fully booked. Had to try the cheese fondue here which did not disappoint. Such a old world atmosphere, with delightful Christmas decorations and photos of celebrities that had stayed...and dined here. The whole experience was very memorable.More

Restaurant Les Armures is a lovely restaurant serving typically Swiss food. We were downstairs in a small room which was full of character and had a lovely atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient and our server was happy to give recommendations and answer any...questions. The food was excellent - generous portions and very tasty. Well worth a visit.More

Fantastic introduction to traditional Swiss cuisine. Situated in the very heart of old Geneva town, this may be the best restaurant to have a Swiss fare and actually enjoy it. The restaurant, part of a hotel, is super cozy and has a great atmosphère…. Though...I have to note the whole place REEKS of liquified cheese. The seasonal chef specials were outstanding. Best chestnut soup I have ever had. Fresh deer carpaccio very good. Absolutely delicious wild boar fillet (wine sauce, steamed Brussels sprouts, chestnuts). Swiss and some international wine selection available. Service was exceptional. Efficient, friendly, helpful and spot on with wine suggestions. A very rare thing In the city. Prices are steep, but you the experience is worth it. Highly recommended!More

A dinner at Les Armures is a must! It is worth visiting for the historic building and Old Town atmosphere alone. But the food is very good and the service is wonderful. We enjoyed two dinners there on our recent trip, and will look forward...to going back on our next visit. The staff were all very patient with our limited French, and all of them spoke English as well. One server in particular (Armand) was helpful and very kind to us.More

We booked this restaurant after searching for the best fondue in Geneva, this restaurant kept coming up. You will have to book this restaurant way in advance, the place was packed. Even after booking 2 months in advance we were initially led to a corner...table which was wasn’t all that suitable for one person let alone two! Having none of that the waiter offered us the only other free table that was most probably reserved for someone else which we happily accepted. It was clear that most diners are here for the fondue. It’s a big portion which you could probably share, we ended up ordering two difference fondues, both were great, served with bread and potatoes. As expected a very good wine list. This is quite a historical building/hotel/restaurant, there are numerous photos and messages on the restaurant walls from some very notable figures - actors, musicians, sports personalities, politicians and royalty! Be careful when accepting drinking water for the table, 13 Euro was quite a surprise on the bill.More
