Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We decided to go here because on their menu it says they offer gluten free bread. We arrived, all got served, we all went for the fondue and I was able to order my GF option. After about 30 mins of waiting, the food comes...out. Everyone gets their bread while I wait for my GF bread to come out. Then the wait staff tells me they don’t have GF bread but “the chef will prepare something for you.” Instantly disappointed, it’s really poor of an establishment in this day and age not to be offering something for people who are coeliac… but I accept and I wait. 5 minutes… 10 minutes… then arrives a plate with chopped raw carrots (rock hard), tomato and cucumber. Conveniently, the fondue does not stick to any of these, so I spent my night trying to enjoy any bit of cheese with this plate of random fruit/veg. Such poor understanding of GF, I couldn’t share my fondue with anyone because of cross contamination so I ordered a pot just for me - if I knew they didn’t have GF bread, I wouldn’t have even gone. So the conclusion was a large bill crap service.More

I visited with my nephew, his wife, and their three children (6-yo twins and an 8-yo). The restaurant's decoration and furnishing is a bit plain, "bistro-style" - characterful in its way. I noticed that there were several other people with young children. Our booking was...for 5pm on a Sunday - and I suspect we needed the booking. Even at 5pm it was far from empty, and it quickly filled up. We were all very happy with our food. I had fondue, something I've had occasionally over the years. It came with - well, just the (very nice, crusty white) bread that came with table setting. I think the people who know what they're doing order extra bread and cold meats, pickles, etc to go with the fondue. I would hope to share a fondue and extra bits with another person. Service was excellent. I can see why it has such a high reputation.More

A special thank you to Ivan who was the waiter who served my group of 28 former colleagues on 22 November. We were a large group and his professional flair, calmness and experience was a tremendous help to me as the organizer of the lunch....We all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious fondue. I look forward to organizing another fondue at this restaurant in the future.More

Great place always for “swiss food” - fondue of course and also malakoff and then a super meringue. Great service and ambience. Very enjoyable evening.

An unforgettable experience, a true pleasure for cheese lovers. I savoured every bite, it was the perfect choice on a cold and rainy day in Geneva recommended by Paul from a YouTube channel. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food he was so cool...and friendly . It was very remarkable how he paid attention to every little detail. Thank you 05/11/2023More

The fondue was the best we had in Switzerland. Chocolate mousse was fantastic, as well. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommend if in Geneva.

We booked this place specially for the fondue as it is cited to be one of the oldest bistros in the city. Took the No 3 bus from central station to Petit Saconnex and the restaurant is just a few steps from the bus stop....We were initially given a seat inside but we asked if we could sit in the outdoor area. They obliged but asked that the table be returned within 90 mins, which was fair. We are not big fans of fondue but our young girl wanted to try it out and we asked for a recommendation on what size would be best. We were told to go for 2 people fondue. Apart from the fondue we ordered for starters and other mains. The fondue took a lot of time and when it arrived it was substantial quantity that we couldn’t finish amongst 2. For almost 50CHF that was pretty steep and we didn’t find it worth the value paid. But we saw adults finishing off their portions and felt that we were probably in the minority. Even then I think we could have been advised that a single portion would have sufficed for trying out. No issues on the service and the place has a quite relaxed vibe to it. Seems to be very popular as well.More

Fondue was very good. We had starters too, it was like a plate of charcuterie, which was good. It began to get crowded after lunch time so better book a table before going to the place. Wine was average. Staff was friendly and was speaking...English too. Recommended.More

I've been here many times. But this last time it felt things had changed. It was crowded. The wait staff was overworked. The food took over an hour to come. They forgot orders. We were in a table by the desk and the waiters bumped...into my chair a dozen times. The place does not merit the rating it has. Two days later we went to Le Bistro, next door, and food and service were excellent.More
