Jene Zeit, als die Zutaten der Küche noch selber angebaut wurden oder aus der Region stammten, dient als Inspiration für unser heutiges regionales und nachhaltiges Konzept. My husband and I dined here last night and to say we had a fantastic evening is an understatement. This restaurant may be very new but that did not show! When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table. The décor was homely and cosy and typified a Swiss ski lodge.
We were looked after by Felix, Erica and Matthias, all of whom showed enthusiasm for the produce on offer and were incredibly knowledgeable about the local wines that were superbly paired. We had the 6 course tasting menu; there are 4,5, and 6 available, which come in either a normal or vegetarian option. And are paired with either wine, beer or juice for an additional charge. We chose the wine pairing with 100ml glasses (50ml is also available). My gluten allergy was catered to without hesitation or difficulty without omitting major parts of the dish so I did not have to have an entirely different meal to my husband.
The tasting menu takes you through a journey of the local alpine region. The ingredients are all locally sourced and my husband was even given bread made from ingredients grown by the chef, as was traditionally done at this hotel! In addition to the 6 courses we were also served amuse- bouchées and petit four, so were more than content. The dishes themselves are a visual delight and it feels a shame to eat them but they are utterly delicious. Each course is elevated from the previous.
At the end of the meal the chefs visit each table to speak to you and we were able to spend considerable time asking questions about the cooking methods, ingredients, inspiration for the dishes etc.
This restaurant would not be out of place in any major city and I am sure a Michelin accolade is not far off!

Our chefs and waiters are so happy, that you mentioned them especially and that you could fully enjoy the evening, even having to eat gluten free.
From end of May on, our chefs will present the new summer menu, should you be around during the warm period of the year, we would love to have the pleasure and the honour of welcoming you back.

We wanted a special meal as part of our honeymoon and this was more than we could have hoped for. The atmosphere and service was really great; even though there were other tables we felt like we were being personally attended to. The wine was all very interesting and varied with interesting extra details provided by our waiter when we showed an interest. The food was exceptional, with some really unexpected flavours and textures. Flavour-wise every course was better than the last.
Finally, we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable despite this experience being well outside of anything we have done before.

A five stars experience without any doubt! We had the regular 5 courses menu paired with the wines selection and we had a total blast! It’s not that often that we get to find restaurant with such fine food. Every bite was an explosion of flavors and textures absolutely balanced and you could here people from other tables saying how much they love it too.
As wine lovers, we were pleasantly surprised of the very good Swiss ones we’ve got served which were just a perfect match with each course. Thanks also to the warm welcome, caring and very professional service. We will surely come back. Long life to this brand new restaurant.

Outstanding! This meal was pure artistry in taste, sight and delivery. We stayed at The Belvedere for my husband’s birthday weekend and booked dinner at 1910 for our last night. We were amazed by each bite, smell and plate delivered to us. Not only was the meal extraordinary but the people who work here show their wholehearted care and a pure desire to delight. We have enjoyed fine dining all over the world, and this meal was in the top three!!

We booked this restaurant not knowing that the meal would be a fixed menu (one with meat, one vegetarian). Although we would never have ordered the selections off a full menu, we could not have been happier with our meal. Each course was a delightful surprise combining local and diverse ingredients to create delicious bites. The asparagus soup and the veal entrees were highlights, but every dish was incredible. Well worth it!!

thank you for having visited our gourmet restaurant and many thanks for the excellent review and the top score of 5 bubbles. To have a selection of menus on that level would only be possible with another 2 or 3 chefs. As the restaurant has a maximum capacity of 20 persons (usually we have 8-10) we would need to charge 2-3x more for the menu and that would not make sense either.
We are very happy to read, that you enjoyed the food served. We would love to welcome you back, one the menus has changed again.

I was given a voucher for my birthday and a friend and I had the 6 - course surprise menu. This was not just a dinner, it was an incredible experience! It started off when we were soaked by a pretty intense rain shower, which defeated our umbrellas. One of the staff, Killian helped us dry out and then we were seated. I loved the ambience and while some people feel it is pretty basic, I felt it fitted well with the origins and ethos of the restaurant. Killian was our expert guide through this culinary adventure. He explained each dish in such a clear and professional way, that we looked forward to the experience. To say the food was sublime is an understatement, each and every dish was an explosion of flavour! The chef, Dávid Imre Rózsa, came over to our table to see how things were going and also to deliver the last little goodbye morsel, which I thought was a lovely touch. Killian was excellent and both my friend and I enjoyed the banter and really made the dinner more memorable. Kudos to him! It was an excellent birthday gift and the fabulous experience well worth the soaking we had to get there. I highly recommend!!

We had a lovely dinner in this intimate space at the Hotel Belvedere.
The tasting menu focuses on fresh, local ingredients and changes seasonally.
The team also picks Swiss wines for their pairing, so enjoy some specialties you won’t find at home.
All of this, plus very attentive service. A great pick in Grindelwald!

his restaurant has not received as many comments as it deserves, it should get more comments and if you are staying at this hotel, you should go if you like to try different tastes. the food was really delicious. I said whichever one I tried was my favourite, and each dish I ate was better than the previous one, but herb sorbet with blueberry sauce, maize soup were different and flavors that I couldn't try elsewhere.
Ps: The menu changes according to the season.

This place has amazing food. It was the
best dinner my husband and I had here
in Grindelwald. Every course was
excellent. The service was the best and
the chefs came out after we ate and were
so nice. The restaurant is only open 4
days a week. I would recommend
reservations.

The place had a positive and friendly vibe, the service was also flawless.
I had a tasting menu and boy... every course was amazing.
To my biggest surprise the celery was my favorite, even though i'm not a big fan of it. :)

I managed to book the last table for Valentine’s night and had high expectations from reading previous reviews. Everything was 5 stars from the reservation, the welcome, the fantastic wait staff, the incredible service overall and the star of the show was the food. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu which was incredible from the start to the finish. Every course was epic. My girlfriend and I ate at the Fat Duck, a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, last month and we both felt this was better! Plus great value for such super food and wine. If you are in the Wengen area don’t miss this gem!!!

We enjoyed our six course meal with paired wine flights very much! The service from Anlu and Félix was fantastic. The chefs created delicious food. An extra treat with getting to meet Mr. Hauser the owner. We highly recommend this wonderful event!

It was arranged to celebrate a birthday. It was a wonderful and amazing dining experience, with unexpected dishes from the chefs.
Prettily presented, well explained. Great wines. Service superb.
