Fantastic warm restaurant. Delicious food all round. Filet Steak was exceptional with extra gratin potatoes being walked around! Touch. The only complaint I have was that it was too cheap.

Dined at Le Gitan to celebrate a birthday whilst at Zermatt. The food whilst simple was of great quality. We had beef and veal served on a bed of spinach with potato gratin. Deserts of cherry tiramisu, Creme brûlée and lemon tart were also great quality. Staff were very attentive and atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend for a nice night... More

We dined here on a Monday evening. Our hotel called ahead to be sure that we could get a table around 830PM and we were greeted enthusiastically upon our arrival. The restaurant design is very interesting- they have created multiple alcoves that create private space, but also some openings in the walls that provide glimpses of fellow diners. All of... More

We were walking around beautiful Zermatt and we decided to stop in this restaurant because of the good reviews on tripadvisor. The place is very small but with cozy atmosphere. At the entrance we were received by the owner which was friendly and got us a table as we did not have a reservation. The place was almost full. Speciality... More

We had yet another great evening in Zermatt at the Le Gitan Grill. If you look at my other reviews, this was our 2nd favorite in the town of Zermatt. The staff were a lot of fun (very friendly) and that helped have a special night. Food was also very good...probably a tick below great (therefore 4-stars).

I had just amazing lamb with herbs here--and my wife loved her pasta, too. The restaurant specializes in grilled meats and it was terrific. A great wine list, too. Sophisticated but warm and friendly, and great service, as fast or as slow as you wanted.

We ate at Le Gitan Grill on the Friday night we arrived in Zermatt. Due to a late train we were running a little late but the restaurant managed to fit us in just before the kitchen closed at 21:30. The restaurant is small and cozy and has a very traditional Swiss style. The food is delicious. We both had... More

The sizzling “holzfeuer” is the centrepiece of Le Gitan, creating an immediate warm and welcoming atmosphere at the forefront of the restaurant. You can wet your appetite by watching all the action from your table; our chef prepares all our grills over the wood fire. Specialities include lamb, prawns, beef and spit-roasted chicken tarragon.
