What a treasure! Waived in off the street, we were happily greeted by the owner. He promptly served us bread and balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was delightful! He suggested a wine and hearts of palm salad to start. We were very pleased with...More

Assaggi is a delightful little Italian restaurant tucked away on a quiet street in Amsterdam's Jordaan district. We visited for supper on a week night, and the place was very busy, which is always a good sign. The service here was extremely personable and attentive,...More

Assaggi is very understated and seriously exceeds the initial impression. We went with a teen who wanted pizza and ended up with some of the best, freshest, home cooked food imaginable. The staff were charming - and their passion for their food was infectious; the...More

Found the restaurant wandering around the Jordan. Two couples each shared goat salads, pizzas and a bottle of wine for lunch. All were excellent and reasonably priced. Service was very good. We all enjoyed this restaurant very much.

My friend and I had dinner here and enjoyed not only a lovely meal but also the friendly service. What struck me most was the sense of authenticity this place embodies, especially shown through the italian speaking staff and the way they made us feel....More

We ate here and enjoyed good wine. The food was a bit lackluster. Our son enjoyed the pizza, but our pasta and saltimbocca were just okay. Nice ambience and friendly service.

Despite the great weather turning bad while we were on the terrace, we still had lovely dinner at Assaggi. You'd expect the bad weather to ruin the athmosphere as it was such a nice and warm sunny day turning to a complete rainstorm... It only...More

An Italian restaurant in the nice Jordaan area. They are serving very good wines, but the food is average.

Thank you Assaggi for an unforgettable evening. Upon entry we were already received by a lady with a big smile. We could not book ourselves but on the recommendation of friends we went there. We got a choice of 2 tables without reservation. It was...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
