The Happy Bull is a family business that opened its doors in May 2016. We wanted to serve the best burgers in town after realizing there were no other places offering what we craved for. We create a place where you, your friends and family can enjoy a nice dinner in a cozy atmosphere. Our speciality? Fresh homemade hamburgers and creamy milkshakes made from Italian ice cream. The Happy Bull has become increasingly famous through the years because of our continuous effort in serving quality burgers, great atmosphere and excellent service. Often we hear from our guests that our burger is the best they have ever eaten. Do you also want to try our homemade burgers?

We had to take the tram quite a bit to get there but it was worth it, we were the second guests there after they opened and within half an hour the place was full, so make sure you make reservations if you're coming during lunch or dinner time.
Medium burgers, large and delicious portions. Strawberry milkshake was delicious as well. Friendly staff. If you're just craving a burger that's worth your while, come here.

We visited after reading so many reviews that placed The Happy Bull as one of the best burger places in Amsterdam.
We weren't disappointed either; extremely tasty, juicy burgers, oozing with flavour and delicious skin-on fries - all cooked to perfection.
There's also a good range of beers to choose from and the welcoming, friendly interactions with the staff made for an overall great impression.
Next time we're in Amsterdam, we will most certainly make a return visit.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Staff were friendly, the burger was so tasteful with top quality ingredients & the perfect texture. Even the tacos were clean, light & packed with flavour which can be a pretty bland dish. Would definitely recommend!

Awful. Mashed up avocado pretending to be guacamole to hide a crappy supermarket veggie patty dressed with limp lettuce. Nachos also prepared with stuff I could’ve bought from the supermarket. Cheese on them like something out a tube. Also same “guacamole” on my burger. Received an arrogant response to my complaint after three days later. AVOID.

A small trendy place in the oud zuid area serving delicious burgers. I had a double spicy burger with fries and lemon mayonnaise. All were very tasty and the patties were grilled perfectly. Service provided by the staff was friendly and attentive. The biggest letdown was the price: charging almost 30 euro's for this combination is outrageous, especially as items are charged separately instead of a fixed price menu like the do at BurgerBar. For me it was a one time only visit.

We drove all the way from the center of Amsterdam for this restaurant and it is really scammed us.
The food is not good and everything was burned.
We reserved a table before we came and they put us in the back of the restaurant in the darkest place they found.
It looks like the deliveries was top priority and not us waiting for the food for about 45 minutes.
Really shame we drove 25 minutes for this restaurant only because somehow it is highly recommended and it is the worst.
People look out, it's scam.

Got off to a tough start. Came there with my friends, we had booked a table but no server came up to us in a long time so we sat down on our down. Then they asked us to change table for a bigger group of people, which was fine but it was before they even greeted us or gave us menus. Just a small, strange first impression, service wise. They all proved me wrong after that though, very friendly and caring. Food was amazing. I don't know what it was, it's almost as if Amsterdam put something special in their food - tasted great. Took their veggie burger which was insane, very realistic grilled meat patty feeling even though it was vegan. Fries very heavenly. This is a fantastic burger place with a chill vibe. Nothing fancy but still cozy! Good music too :)

This place can get a little cramped, but its quaint in a pretty street with great food. I had the smokey bacon burger and it was cooked to perfection as well as "The Perfect storm", a combination of rum, lemon and ginger which was fantastic. This is a great little stop when visiting Amsterdam.

Apparently, most folks come for burgers (and I’ve heard from friends since my visit that they are great!) But I went for the hotdogs! As an American, I grew up with them but until recently decent hotdogs were rare in Amsterdam. (Unless you count supermarket canned variety - quelle horreur!) A chili dog with cheddar cheese & salsa hit the spot for me - both the meal-sized hotdog and an authentic chili topping were delicious! Also, I recommend a side of tasty sweet potato fries! And to complete the American experience, a beer menu offers Brooklyn Lager. Yum! The decor is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the prices reasonable. Reservations are suggested for the busy dinner time. Too bad they are only open for lunch on Sat & Sun. But I’ll definitely be back for more!

The restaurant was amazing. We don't go often to hamburger restaurants in Amsterdam but this was an amazing find, my whole family went for different hamburgers and all of them were amazing. Also it's nice that they have kids menu, which my sister really enjoyed. Also the service was good, the people were nice and the overall atmosphere was good. Definitely going to recommend this place to other friends and family.

This is an excellent little burger restaurant with a range of delicious burgers. I had the Californian burger - beef with guacamole, melted cheddar and lettuce and it was so juicy. Chips are also good and the coleslaw was nice with divine little crispy onions. Highly recommend a visit!

This is a nice burger restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is both efficient and friendly. We loved our burgers: cheese burger and bacon burger. We took two portions of fries: classic and the sweet potatoes and this was almost too much! Sweet potatoes fries were the best. Good selection of beers too. We paid 44€ for two burgers, two portions of fries and two beers. You won't leave hungry. Enjoy!

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was very kind and attentive. Our food was expertly prepared, arrived at our table quickly, and was still hot from the grill. The burgers were amazing - as were the fries, onion rings, and shakes. It seemed best to have made a reservation online prior to coming, but the staff was very friendly and found accommodations for all walk-ins, despite it being dinnertime and quite busy. I will DEFINITELY be returning frequently.

While exploring the area of our B&B, we found this gem of a place. You knew something was good by how many of the tables had "Reserved" signs on them. Best burger (BBQ) I've had anywhere and puts "Red Robin" to shame.

I've been going to Happy Bull at least twice a month for years now! It's absolutely tasty and the staff is very very friendly (to the point they can now tell it's me over the phone just by my voice!!!).
Aside the burger itself the chips are awesome and they even have a very nice beer selection. If you're in Amsterdam this is a MUST!
