Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best hot chocolate I have ever had. Like chocolate velvet! Not too sweet, perfectly creamy. It comes with a chocolate treat. A small piece of chocolate with fresh crème. Not overly sweet. Perfect pairing. Definitely give it a try.

Chocolaterie Pompadour was the only chocolate shop that we sought out while on holiday in Amsterdam. It was extremely busy, and so we merely stood in line to procure a few sweet treats. We couldn't pass up the chocolate Eclairs, as they are my husband's...favorite - they were delicious. We also bought several bags of Fall-centric Marzipan as gifts to bring home. On a future visit to Amsterdam, hopefully, we will have the opportunity to sit and enjoy a steaming Hot Chocolate and other sweet confections.More

Delicious takeaway quiche. Warm and fresh. Great for a quick lunch or snack on your way to the museums or while shopping near herengracht.

In this small and old fashion interior you can enjoy high quality homemade chocolates and cakes. We tried the French lemon cake and some chocolates. Yummy! Unfortunately the coffee wasn’t hot enough.

We had a hazelnut pastry and an orange Florentino. They were both delicious. The hazelnut was light and deliciously flavored. The orange Florentino was full of flavor and the chocolate was perfect.

One of the places we like to pay visit for food shopping in Amsterdam is Chocolaterie Pompadour, a teashop and dessert specialist on Huidenstraat. We come here for the dark chocolate Orangettes which are delicious. Prices have climbed quite a bit since our last visit...before the pandemic but glad to find that the quality is still very high. They also do milk chocolate covered Orangettes but we prefer the dark chocolate which is a bit bitter and rich flavour, covering slightly tangy sweet orange peels. Packages are delicate so be mindful of how you pack them with your carry on luggage if you want to fly these home with you. We have been nibbling on ours continuously since arriving back home in Hong Kong a couple weeks ago. They very good and ruin finding decent Orangettes at our local chocolate shops at home.More

A great find. An oasis of peace in the bustling city of Amsterdam. Lovely 'old school' coffee and cake shop. Our strawberry tart and lemon meringue tartlets were devine. Coffee served with a lovely little madeleine.

Beautiful little Tea Room, excellent service from entering to leaving with very friendly staff. Me and my partner had a tea and coffee, the chocolate cake and the raspberry meringue cheesecake. The cakes were delicious and reasonably priced. This is our 9th time in Amsterdam...and this is definitely on our list of places to return.More

The best cakes I have ever had! Probably french inspired, these cakes are a tastebuds explosion that will make your journey in Amsterdam sweeter than ever. The owner is a lovely man who will be delighted to run through all the cake and chocolate selection...leaving you with a 💯-satisfied experience. The chocolates deserve top rates as well! We went there twice within two days: addictive!More

This small, beautiful patisserie, decorated in Empire style, was recommended to me by a local, someone who’s lived in Amsterdam all his life. He was right! Buy absolutely amazing cookies, pastries, or chocolates to take away, or sit at a table in the small raised...area and enjoy a treat along with a perfectly made expresso or hot chocolate. The staff is delightful, professional but with a personal touch. A haven of calm in the bustle of the city. I stopped by every day for my espresso macchiato, which is graciously served with a small delicious cake. I also bought some cookies to take away and they were wonderful!More

The decor of Pompadour is that of a days-gone-by tea room, soft colours, woodwork, raised podium for chairs and tables, no or very soft music - a lovely atmosphere. The chocolates look superb, bite-sized, a huge variety. The patisserie is delicious with little works of...art in tiramisu, framboises with blueberries on top of light and fluffy cream, caramel with nuts etc etc. Service is quick and welcoming.More

'Kinda expensive' was some rather tame heading from another review. You pay for what you get. Here you get really good chocolates and to die for cakes. It wasn't that expensive and the hot chocolate I had to drink was wonderful. Smallish cafe, but lacked...a bit of atmosphere, otherwise the products were super.More
