This is one of my favorites bomboneries in Amsterdam. The chocolates and patisserie they have are SUPERB! The coffee place is not incredible special because is quite small and always is busy, but still if you are in the 9 streets is a cost and lovely place to make an stop and have a nice coffee with a sweety... Visited here for an afternoon sugary pick-me-up and this place didn't disappoint. Tasty, artistic, single-serving cakes for eat-in or takeaway. Lots of decadent chocolate creations and the hot chocolate was anything but watery. There are only a few tables though, so you may have to wait a bit for space to free up.
We tried 3 different kinds of cakes on the last day in Amsterdam and wish we had tried more. All delicious, best cakes ever had! Will pay Amsterdam another visit so as to try their cakes! :)
The Pompadour is a small refined café that pampers you with stunningly beautiful pastry work. Everything's exquisite: quiches (one of the best I've had anywhere), little bonbons and of course, the amazing cakes. Perfect for a morning break before the museum or a lovely dessert afterward. .

We then could not possibly leave without a selection of the lovely chocolates on display. Lovely staff here too.
Beautiful, with wood-carved walls, rows of bonbons, pastries and cakes. What you would imagine a European cafe to be. We pampered ourselves on a cold day with cappuccino and apple pie - excellent! Try the Florentine cookie in the window - dipped in chocolate. Lovely little place.
After a lot of sight-seeing it was a great stop for hot chocolate and a fruit tart. My son had something chocolaty and enjoyed that as well. Yummy.
We passed nearby when walking in the 9 streets area and the view from outside was really actracting. Luckily a table became free and we could enter and sit. A wide selection of chocolates and very tasty and original cakes was available. A great hot chocolate was a good complement for the cake. A sweet break with a raining and... More
