Delicious Indian food in a nice spacious restaurant. The staff were friendly yet I was a bit bothered by the fact they refused to give out a glass of tap water. Still, definitely a restaurant worth trying! Butter chicken was amazing.

The name of the restaurant on Tripadvisor is wrong - correct name is "Mogul" with an "u". Dropped in with a bunch of friends hungry for some Indian food. Nice and roomy feeling and service minded staff. We just asked for a mix of dishes to divide among us and got a nice collection of dishes. Not the best Indian... More

Despite the place was a little bit hide, we found it and decided to try it. And we were made the right decision! There was a good choice of plates and the restaurant was very clean and lighting. We tasted spice curry and it was very good! Suggested

It was pretty bland food all round which disappointed us enormously as the smells were amazing. The starters were ample and very tasty but the mains lacked finesse and neither me or my partner completed our meal. Staff were fine.

Whilst it took a while, the food was honestly fantastic and very reasonably priced. We might try and go back tomorrow.

One of the worst Indian meals I have ever had in a restaurant. Very bland with no hint of freshness. Our main dishes were not properly heated through. Service was good (we were the only three guests in the restaurant !). A very poor meal at an extortionate price.

Worst possible Indian food one could find outside India. Absolutely not recommended for anyone. The staff was very courteous but the food was atrocious. After spending 34 Euros on our dinner, we had to go out and eat another dinner mean and not to risk we chose an authentic european meal.

I have now tried 8 out of the roughly 20 indian restaurants in Amsterdam. This is not in the top 3 but is is ok. Its throw back to the Raj in decor. The food is acceptable, better if you have had a few beers! If you are in the area the Koh i noor is better, but if you... More

The food was delicious. We were 3 friends ordered 3 different dishes and the portions were large enough for everyone. I felt that the lamb we ordered was slightly under cooked but that could be fixed. The breads served were freshly baked and once again delicious. The Indian music and decorations built quite an ambiance. The service was bit slow... More

This has got to be, by far the worst Indian restaurant I have even eaten in, not cheap the sauces were watery, the rice was congieled and stick, the naan bread poor and the service was appauling, three tables complained whilt we were there and the staff were disinteredted. If you are in Amsterday and fancy a curry, avoid the Mogul at all costs

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
