Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is our third time at Pompa. It is under new management. The service and the food are excellent. The menu has changed from last year's but it is still outstanding. The staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant comfortable. Order the bread and black...olives. Best bread in Amsterdam. We had the parma ham panini and the pasta Arrabbiata. Wine, coffee, dessert--all first class.More

Not really what you expect from a tapas bar. It is a restaurant that serves small portions (not many options either). Service was incredibly slow and they got my order wrong. Food was ok but not great

Best Restaurant in town. Everything is possible here. True hospitality still exists. The hostess was so kind. Please visit, you will not be disappointed.

Cozy little restaurant with delicious food! I had lasagna and my sister had soup and bruschetta on a cold rainy day. It was perfect!

Brilliant service and delicious food. We had the rose and a primitive which were both ideal and some of us had excellent steaks but most had the mixed plates of tapas which we shared and they were substantial. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Great spot, a little noisy with the traffic, but the food was great, especially the tomato soup!! We had a couple apps and salads, perfect after a stop at the frites stand.

Pompa has a 1st rate location, very close to the Museumplein and the big museums in Amsterdam and frequented by many tourists. I am very pleased to say that despite this, it is in no way a tourist trap, but a charming duplex restaurant, serving...Mediterranean dishes ( and not only pasta like the outside board implies) of authentic flavours and ingredients e.g. grilled sardines, tuna carpaccio, lambs meat balls, hummus with egg and grilled aubergine and the like. The hummus is exactly as you find it in the Middle East, smooth, lemony and with a touch of warm spices. Service at Pompa is swift and welcoming. A great place for a delicious meal after a visit to one of the museums.More

I walked past this restaurant after a museum visit and felt a little peckish. There are two floors of tables and I found myself seated upstairs. Dinner was the Tomato Soup followed by the Penne Pesto and ending with a Tiramisu. The food was tasty...and I enjoyed the dishes. Most importantly, there were warm smiles coming from the staff. Well done!More

Floating bland and soggy food bits in loads of olive oil is not what Tapas is about. Staff and location are ok I guess bit the food was horrible.

Came for lunch in between museum visits. My husband had prebooked, although they didn't seem to have record of this, but there were tables available anyway. We both ordered paninis, which had a good amount of filling. Pretty simple stuff, but that was all we...were after on our quick pit stop. Staff were polite and the service was efficient.More

The food was just ok. The menu is pretty limited and pricey. Not one of our faves for this neighborhood full of convenient eating places.

Don't go here! Tourist Trap and more! This was by far the worst place we visited on our trip. The food is passable, but that's were it ends. The staff (young males) couldn't be less engaged in their work. We received a half-hearted welcome, followed...by where not(!) to sit. Then they just put down the plates and cutlery for ourselves to place and walked away with no comment. Even more, our plates were still dirty. The prices are also way to high for what you get, we visited Michelin restaurants on our stay with more for less. Finally wanted to pay and were ordered downstairs to do and didn't even get asked if we wanted the receipt. Seriously...More

I don't think you will need, nor do they take reservations. It is a small, casual restaurant. We went for lunch one day and dinner the next with no trouble getting a table. No white tablecloths here, therefore no... More
