Italian import - a little gem.

We had booked for late lunch, the restaurant was just recently opened, covid , bad weather we were only 2 couples. So we got a lot of attention. We decided for the 5 course experience menu. The food was delicious, just the right quantities not to be overfull which usually the case when taking 5 courses. Super red wine from Tuscany. To start 3 cheeses and charcoutre well matched , second course was pork which looked like tuna and beans , the pork melted in the mouth and so tasty, 3rd course cappalletti with truffle - yummy and main course was wild boar with mashed potatoes simple but superb and finally dessert ( I leave that as a surprise)

An Authentic Taste of Italy in Amsterdam

This hidden jewel is a MUST-DO when in Amsterdam. I was curious to see if it had maintained the same high standards as its sister restaurant La Maschera del Lillotatini and it did. This is great as there are now two proper Italian restaurants in Amsterdam! Everything is made from scratch, all the ingredients are fresh and their wine list is superb. If you feel the need to escape Amsterdam for a couple of hours and want all your senses to travel to Italy you must come to Momenti. The service is also as good as the food: everyone is super friendly and they pay great attention to detail. Expect a warm, relaxed atmosphere that will leave you wanting more! All I can say is save space for dessert! You won't regret it!

Momenti is not only an amazing

Momenti is not only an amazing restaurant, but also a full experience of Italian tradition, in terms of food and atmosphere. The quality of the ingredients they use to create tasty home made pastas, the wide selection of excellent quality wine. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fun Experience

We were very happy to find an Italian restaurant that actually serves genuine Italian food. Everything on the menu looked amazing. The sommelier and the waiters were all very friendly and were eager to answer any questions we had about the menu or wines, and definitely wanted us to have a good experience in their restaurant. For starters we had a beef ragu over a bed of pasta. Both the beef and the pasta were perfectly prepared. We went on to the rabbit, a house specialty, and it was delicious. The sommelier recommended wines by the glass which paired perfectly with the courses. We thought the service was outstanding, given that each item is individually prepared. We also thought the prices were very reasonable, given the high quality of the food and wine. We will definitely return, if we are ever again in Amsterdam.

What a night!

Great experience in this recently opened Italian restaurant. We both had the ‘creativity menu’, 4 courses of traditional recipes innovated by the chef. We loved everything, especially the chocolate ravioli stuffed with wild boar with candied orange e the fungamisu’. The wine list offered a large choice of Italian and international wines. Will be back!

A wonderful Amsterdam moment in Italy!

We wanted to spend the last evening in Amsterdam with a great meal and this was the ideal place! Starting from the waiters all the way to the manager, the staff was more than accommodating and friendly to us. They all speak Italian among themselves and if you close your eyes you could imagine you are spending a lovely evening in Florence. The owner/manager is very knowledgeable in wine and suggested we start with a glass of the orange wine from northern Italy which was a great choice. The meal was delectable, fresh ingredients (I had the pork ravioli with truffles as well as the best eggplant parmesan appetizer I have ever had). My husband was also very pleased with his choices. The desert was the lovely mushroom piece so many have posted. Do not pass this up, you will love the way it is presented but more than anything, you will absolutely be blown away by the taste. My mouth waters just thinking about our meal there! It will be first on our list for our next visit to Amsterdam.

Totally deserve the 5 stars. High standard ambience, food, service and wine. Imported ‘Cinta Senese’ pork meats, bread, pasta and dessert homemade by the chef/owner. Will be back

A chance encounter finding the best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam

On a recent trip to Amsterdam, our party of four actually had a reservation at another restaurant further down this same street, but the restaurant was mobbed and the hostess informed us that we would have to wait for over 1 hour for our table that we reserved. Obviously, we weren't happy (or in a good mood), so we explored the restaurants around us and stumbled upon Momenti. And like the clouds parting after a severe storm, our evening was made perfect by Momenti! The host immediately sat us at a lovely table for 4 and took our drink orders. The chef appeared shortly after to explain the specials and provide some additional advice/guidance for the menu. Wine was delivered (which was excellent) and the orders were all taken. Shortly, our first courses appeared and they were all amazing...beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned and cooked and plentiful. We were all so excited we couldn't wait for the main courses, which also didn't disappoint. The pasta was beautiful, the chef's touches amazing and the service throughout the meal was beyond excellent. We were over the moon! Definitely we will be returning and we can't recommend Momenti highly enough...It's the best Italian restaurant in all of Amsterdam.

Disappointing.

I’m always a little sceptical when I see as many as 41 reviews in a row all five star - really?? But we decided to try it. Well they certainly didn’t get it right tonight for us, (two couples). The menu is quite limited in choice, but then the restaurant is quite small, so I suppose that’s to be expected. Sardine starters were fine as were the two different desserts we tried, but three of us opted for the lamb with tomato sauce and ‘roast potatoes’ which were really rough cut chips with skins. No other vegetable was included or extra sides offered. The lamb though, was chewy and laced with gristle - more like poor cuts of mutton. I’m afraid it completely spoilt the meal for us. It came across as a cheap cut and when you are charging €29 a plate, this is not on. At €270 for four including tip and only one bottle of wine that’s not good value - hence my low rating.

A delicious Italian gem

A delicious little Italian gem. I believe they are changing the menu and may not have the four course options now, but did have them when we visited. You could choose from a four course traditional, vegetarian, seafood, or other menu. I went with vegetarian and husband had traditional. The panzanella was so good. Fresh and light but full of flavor. And topped with some rich buffalo mozzarella. The second course of ravioli filled with tomato and topped with salted ricotta was also good. The pasta was al dente and the flavors all popped. The eggplant was smoky and rich and cheesy. Amazing. The charcuterie platter had three types of pecorino and some melt in your mouth ham and salami. The boar was tender and not gamey. The little bites of chocolate before dessert were perfect with the recommended vin Santo wine. If you like pistachios, the pistachio dessert is for you. And nice with the white chocolate. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful. They were so nice the weekend prior when the power went out. The wine list is quite nice and one of the owners compiled it so is very helpful when selecting a wine with dinner. Overall a lovely dinner. We will be back!

Great Italian cuisine

Second time in Amsterdam, I decide to try this new restaurant because I loved its twin, La Maschera Lillotatini. More over, it is placed in one of the most beautiful ways in the city center. Romantic atmosphere, high quality food and wine, perfect service! My favorite dish is definitely the dessert: dark chocolate sablé, ganache and red fruits! Everything was delicious! I totally recommend this place.

Amazing experience in this new restaurant in the center on amsterdam. We were there for s'valentine s day and we had 2 creativity menu which i recommend. Fungamisu dessert was excellent and i really appreciated also the Wine list with a large choice of best italian and international wines . Expensive and average quality

The food is just ok. The real issue here is the price of everything and the sneaky way they add extras to the bill, for example 5 euros for a slice of stale bread broken into 4 pieces. The dishes are all very expensive. We asked for ravioli and were charged 32 euros each for a small plate !!! After eating in this place, not only was my wallet considerably lighter but I suffered with the most chronic indigestion that I have ever experienced. I will most definitely not be returning!

Not a tiramisu

We came here after we already had eaten to try the renowned dessert "not a tiramisu". Flaming recommendation! Visually stunning, textually diverse and with well balanced flavours of coffee, white chocolate, mascarpone, biscuits, raspberries, and spieces. Check it out!

I like the rustic decor at Momenti. The meal is served with a smile and has a range of flavors, perfectly enriched with Italian tomatoes. Please book ahead of time as this restaurant is highly in demand. Look forward to visiting again
