Visited De Nachtwacht on a cold evening with a group of five people. Since we reserved a table the day before, it was relatively easy to find a table. I suggest to make a prior reservation since this restaurant is a popular place among the...More

Great atmosphere. Not cheap but a memorable experience on Rembrandt Square. Good 70s music. Try the Affigem blonde beer.

Ordered the entrecôte which was way more chewy then supposed to be at 25€. Exchanged for a fillet which they overcooked. Fries tasted a bit off, didn’t like any of the sauces. Due to cold weather also cold inside. Cannot recommend.

Visited here this evening. The starter (prawns pil pil) was unbelievable. Delicious to say the least. Had the T-bone steak. Ordered it medium rare and was a little more undercooked than I would usually like but was still delicious. Would highly recommend. Staff were great...More

On a scale of 1 to 10, service was a 2. Our server didn’t even open our 50+ euro bottle of wine for us. Also...they don’t have olives so they can’t make martinis. What kind of steakhouse can’t make a martini? Menu is decently priced...More

Restaurant De Nachtwacht is situated on the corner of Thorbecke square and Rembrandt square. From our closed veranda you have a fantastic view on one of Amsterdam’s most lively squares: the Rembrandt square.
It is also possible to taste the 70´s and 80´s retro atmosphere at one of the lounge tables or at the bar, both figuratively (the atmosphere of our restaurant) as literally the scent and taste of our steaks on the charcoal grill.

For the best steaks you are at the right place. Our butcher from the eastside of the country preserves the high quality of the meat he delivers and our cooks prepare your steak the way you prefer.
