Hadn't eaten at de Struisvogel (The Ostrich) for years. Stumbled upon it completely by accident while walking along the very beautiful and snow covered Keizersgracht. It truly is a little gem of a restaurant in a very upscale part of the city. Excellent offerings from the 3-Course Menu. The Carrot-Ginger Soup/Goose and Apple Crumble all stellar. Service was attentive and... More

Great place for a meal. Very intimate. Only a few seats so need to book in advance for either a 6pm or 8pm sitting. Really recommend the ostrich!

This was my second time eating here and we were not disappointed. The 3 course menu is great value. The portions are not huge but you will be quite satisfied. Very busy little restaurant and staff excellent. Definitely need to book. So many people being turned away.

This was our second visit. Fortunately, it wasn't busy as the tables are so close together. The menu is on a limited, prix fixe basis and is reasonably-priced (though there are several supplements). The food was good, but not throughout. The lady maitre d' was very pleasant, but we've experienced much better service in Amsterdam.

Very French like menu. Good food. Great local beer. Definitely French level of service here. 26 euro for a 3 course meal.

On a short break from the UK we stumbled across this little gem. Great welcome and service throughout and the food was absolutely lovely. Unusual, my ostrich steaks were tender and served with a delicious sauce. The puddings were lovely. If you like small, intimate, noisy and great food go here. I th no we were the only tourists, full... More

We have been to this tasteful and warm restaurants a view times. It had a typical Amsterdam ambiance in a small souterrain next to the canals and the menu is very good. especially the vegetarian options and the ostrich itself are surprisingly good! What a pity that the waitress yesterday gave us the feeling she wanted us out of there... More

A lovely little bistro tucked downstairs in the Grachtengordel district of Amsterdam. The atmosphere is very friendly, decor a little rustic and food organic with a French twist. The menu may be a little limited for some but not for us and the 3 course menu at just over 26 Euro is good value. My wife chose slightly better than... More

I went to this restaurant with some work colleagues. We weren't expecting too much from the restaurant as it is on the underground, low profile and very small. Although was excellent, flavorful and really well presented. I highly recommend.

Thank Vitor F
