Located on the charming old street lined with small shops, bakery, macaroon store, and small restaurants, this is a nice modern brasseries with good service, reasonable wine list, and a nice bistro menu with soups, sandwiches, salads, etc. Excellent service. Not far from the Amsterdam Hilton.

Great neighborhood brasserie. Visited twice, once for lunch and again for dinner. Both were excellent. Lunch included fluffy omelette stuffed with ham and cheese along with fresh, crusty bread. Nice house white wine with it. Dinner was an excellent schnitzel following an equally good caesar salad. Dressing was not too heavy and greens were fresh, crisp and cold. The other... More

This is in walking distance of the Amsterdam Hilton. Little restaurant in a local neighborhood. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Stop in, you'll love it.

Had a great time here. The staff were fantastic and the food very good. The place was buzzing and very busy with locals and visitors. On a lovely street in Oud Zuid. If I return to Amsterdam I will definitely eat here.

Our Angus Burgers were excellent as were the fries we ordered. The presentation was lovely. We are older and if we had it to do over we would have ordered one hamburger with fries for one person and something lighter, like a salad, for the other. Younger people who burn more calories can handle individual hamburgers. One order of fries... More

This is one of the places that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a good bar menu. We had breakfast; Yogurt with granola and fruits, pastrami sandwich, tuna sandwich, omelette, banana pancake. All items were very tasty. Pastrami was great and can beat any NY Jewish deli. Service was good for Amsterdam standards and ok for anywhere else

Fastest service in Amsterdam! First time I felt properly looked after! Very attentive and fast service! Delicious wine! Huge gin and tonic - as big as my head! And the food was also delicious! Could not fault it! Great evening!

Had dinner at Brasserie van Dam tonight and I really liked it. The staff is friendly, the prices fair but for sure not overly cheap, the food taste well, the portions are spot on. The restaurant is good for almost any event or audience. There is a good level of background noise. I picked the daily specials and was happy... More

We walked by several times on our way between our hotel and the nearby tram stop and noticed that this place was always busy, so we gave it a try for breakfast. Great idea! Had a very nice breakfast (cheese omelet on dark bread) but also noticed that the dinner menu had burgers, so came back another time for dinner.... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
