Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolute rip off over priced restaurant, stay away! Average quality dish and wines at exorbitant prices, never again!

The food was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had. Their catering to food requirements and allergies was so comforting and the atmosphere was relaxed and chill. 10/10

By far my favourite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam! The pasta is always al dente and the sauces are great. The service is top class! You feel as if you were immersing yourself in Italy. Definitely worth a visit.!

I am so glad to I went there. You get a very boutique service in this family-run restaurant. The food is really delicious. The place is small but big with its content. I loved them!

We come here regularly because of the high quality of ingredients and the authentic Italian cuisine. All pastas, bread and desserts are home made from special old (not modified) grains that have a low gluten content. All meat is from organic farming. I can really...recommend this small restaurant with a big cuisine for a reasonable price.More

Our favorite Italien restaurant in Amsterdam! The food is so delicious… you don’t want to stop eating . Pasta and Bread are homemade from stone milled organic of ancient grains. They only use organic meat. You have to go there if you are in Amsterdam!

Pasta was just ok. Not super fresh but reasonably tasty. Also reasonable value for the money. Overall ok.

Great place, where authentic traditional Italian dishes are reinvented in a sofisticated and moder fashion. Personnel is lovely and the venue cozy and intimate. Highly recommended.

I am Italian and can say that here you eat like you would in Italy. I have been twice and all dishes have tried have been excellent. Prime ingredients, authentic flavors, really good wine. Service is quick and attentive. Totally recommended.

Recommended by a local, we were keen to try this small Italian restaurant. It is a narrow space, more open. At the front, but somewhat claustrophobic at the rear, overlooking the kitchen and at head level a narrow shelf, lined with wine but at a...disconcerting lean. The menu has a couple of specials and a selection of starters and mains. We started with the Vitello Tonnato, a classic. It was thin slices of veal, with dollops of Tonnato and a couple of capers. The other was beans and chicory, a puree of white beans with a stack of cooked chicory, tasty but tough. We then had ravioli with pumpkin and penne with porcini and sausage. Both dishes could easily be made better by the average home cook. Tiramisu was two savioradi biscuits, sandwiched with marscapone. The kitchen apparently is produce driven, but it doesn't show. Some inspiration with the produce would make for a return visit.More

We normally stay down the street at the Banks Mansion so this is an easy walk. We visited Al Bacaro a couple of times back in 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it so thought we'd try again with the couple we were traveling with. Once again...it was excellent! Glad we had our reservation for 7PM and promptly greeted and seated by friendly staff. The carpaccio, spaghetti salsiccia, caprese salad were are very good. Reasonably priced dishes. Only item that was just OK was the risotta. Nice bottle of reasonably priced chianti and another very nice dinner. We shall return on each trip back to Amsterdam for excellent pasta.More

A little difficult to find, but well worth it. Modest menu of authentically prepared Italian dishes. Everything was delicious. Great comfort food stop.
