I'll spare you the disgusting details, but we could both see and hear (!) that the main cook was very sick. When we mentioned it to the waitress 2 minutes after ordering, she didn't care. We left without eating and were charged full price. No response from management to follow up complaint. Stay well away....imagine how low their standards must... More

This place is unpretentious and with almost all menu items under or around 10 Euros great value. Their dough is delicious...both crisp and chewy. Some of the meat is processed, but the veggies are always fresh. The calzones are their best item.

Visited the place when it was completely empty on a Wednesday night on a friend's recommendation. We had around 2kg of their special gambas in a butter garlic capers sauce which was really tasty and served with a salad and fries. Including beers the whole bill was around 60e, which was amazing value if you ask me. Service was also... More

The restaurant consists of a couple of small rooms that have the feel of stepping back in time with old dark wood. The menu is extensive, the staff extremely friendly and the food excellent. There are always so many choices for Italian restaurants but this really is one of the best in the northern Joordan neighborhood.

Our first full day in Amsterdam, and we were wandering the canals in search of a bite. We stopped in to this quaint cafe for some pizza. They appeared to have a full Italian menu. We ordered salads and shared a pizza. The pizza were one size that was perfect for sharing. We noticed most diners were eating their own... More

We had eaten lots of pizza and pasta and were looking for meat. The veal was lovely, and a man at the next table had lamb shoulder, it looked delicious! It came with chips and salad which wasn't stated on the menu. The salad was very fresh, crisp and flavorsome. The price was reasonable too. Great drinks selection.

DO not go. Especially with a groupon deal. There is no deal. I got a bottle of wine for 26 euro that was already opened and horribly dirty. Everything is dirty. Food though is not bad. The place looks old dirty and dismissed. Pity.

This is in my neighborhood, and it's one of my favorite local eating places. Open late, and the food has always been consistently good for a excellent price. One of their specials (on the board, not in the menu) are the gambas (prawns) which are cooked in a really nice sauce and served with very good fries and salad. Great... More

Simple concept, but good pizza and very cheap. The service is also and I have never left the place hungry.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
