Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

After a charming visit to the Mouse Museum we needed a place to eat before a canal boat tour near the Anne Frank House. We happened upon this little gem of a restaurant and we are so glad we had lunch here.
We had done a quick web search beforehand, and many a good word had been said about their sharing platters. With our two young ones, aged 7 and 9, in tow, we thought it the perfect choice to try. The owner, ever so thoughtful, inquired about our appetites and recommended the small platter along with some calamari and a trio of fries. And let me tell you, it was just the right amount of food for our little party, and the children were absolutely thrilled with the selection.
Ah, the platter! A delightful assortment of sausages, fish, and beef, with a touch of carne asada style, if memory serves me right. But the true stars of the show were those marvelous, fresh bread rolls. Can you believe it? Bread rolls stealing the spotlight! They were divine, I must say.
Of course, the young ones couldn't resist the temptation of those golden fries; it's like a siren's call to children, isn't it? And for myself, I indulged in the Leffe beer, which paired perfectly with the meal, adding to the enjoyment of the occasion.
The ambiance of Boca's is simply delightful, with its artistic decor, adorned with charming artworks, and a variety of seating options to suit every taste. Back in my younger days, I dare say it would have been an ideal place to relax and spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with friends, laughing and savoring life's little pleasures.
All in all, Boca's truly exceeded our expectations. It managed to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with scrumptious food and friendly service. Whether you're exploring Amsterdam with family or looking for a spot to unwind, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Boca's. It will leave you with a content heart, cherished memories, and a longing to return to those unforgettable bread rolls. Cheers, darlings!

We visited this restaurant on our first day in Amsterdam. The kitchen closes at 9 pm so at our 8:30 pm arrival, someone items on the menu were not available. We ordered a bread basket which was delicious with hot crusty bread rolls. Fries were ok, sweet potato and curly were good, but regular ones were not crispy. All 3 dipping sauces that came with the fries tasted the same. Beef tartare was okay but lacked flavor. Shrimp croquettes were very good. The service was excellent. Wine by the glass had really small pours. If you are going for the wine, I recommend ordering a bottle.

Our hotel recommended another restaurant in this area, but we decided to go to Boca based on the variety of items on the menu, that it looked more peaceful and inviting and the ability to try and share small plates. Our family of 4 ordered salad with salmon, Bitterballen (meatballs), mini kipsalon with chicken, fries sampler, bruschetta with steak and apple pie, all of which were very good. The staff was helpful in providing suggestions and made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would eat here again on a future visit to Amsterdam.

In the heart of Jordaan, this funky cafe serves great food in moderate portions so you can taste a lots of different things to share. Good local Dutch specialties and some more international but all great quality and very yummy. Staff are friendly and helpful and the locals come here.

Nice casual place close to where we were staying. Was sad that they ran out of the 2 items we saw on the menu outside (reason why we chose the restaurant in the first place) but there were plenty of others things to order. Good place if you want to sample and share different dishes at affordable prices.

Exactly what we have been looking for. Typical place where the locals hang out. Excellent food, kind service, good prices. We've tried it in the evening, came back for breakfast and didn't want to leave Amsterdam without having lunch as well, 3rd time's the charm. No regrets. Only recommend it

Great service with fantastic food served quickly and in a well presented manor. Plenty of drinks to choice from in this lovely cozy restaurant which we would have walked passed but glad we didn’t.

We ended up here by mistake, but it ended up being one of our most memorable meals in Amsterdam. The concept of the place is a tapas like meal and meant to share. The food is TASTY and memorable! The staff is nice and welcoming. We ordered the prawn croquettes, bao bun, and the burger.

We went into Boca’s after a long morning of sightseeing and chose a variety of sandwiches and the traditional pea soup. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality food and relaxed atmosphere. We would recommend the fig and cheese and the pastrami sandwiches as well as the soup. We enjoyed it so much we returned a few days later when we were in the area. Service was perfect each time.

So i am travelling alone and looking for a small restaurant to have supper. The staff were amazing and had me signed into the free wifi very quickly. It is tapas style dining, so little plates made for sharing but i ordered two for myself along with a local craft beer that had hints of lemon and pepper. Steak tartare served with a raw quails egg presented beautifully with enough crostini’s to actually finish the tartare!!! I also ordered the bruschetta with Camembert and asparagus. Both were realky good. After a day of touring i treated myself to a dessert of roasted peaches with Amaretto and candied almonds. The ambiance is warm and welcoming with jazzy blues music being played.
