We ended up here by mistake, but it ended up being one of our most memorable meals in Amsterdam. The concept of the place is a tapas like meal and meant to share. The food is TASTY and memorable! The staff is nice and welcoming....We ordered the prawn croquettes, bao bun, and the burger.More

We went into Boca’s after a long morning of sightseeing and chose a variety of sandwiches and the traditional pea soup. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality food and relaxed atmosphere. We would recommend the fig and cheese and the pastrami sandwiches as...well as the soup. We enjoyed it so much we returned a few days later when we were in the area. Service was perfect each time.More

So i am travelling alone and looking for a small restaurant to have supper. The staff were amazing and had me signed into the free wifi very quickly. It is tapas style dining, so little plates made for sharing but i ordered two for myself...along with a local craft beer that had hints of lemon and pepper. Steak tartare served with a raw quails egg presented beautifully with enough crostini’s to actually finish the tartare!!! I also ordered the bruschetta with Camembert and asparagus. Both were realky good. After a day of touring i treated myself to a dessert of roasted peaches with Amaretto and candied almonds. The ambiance is warm and welcoming with jazzy blues music being played.More

Non caring cook staff. Two waiters, two cooks and 4 tables of two or three persons. Shouldn't be a problem. .. Unfortunately, total service fail. One of the waitresses tried her hardest to make things work. Her colleague was obviously new, and worse, oblivious to...what service should be. We were the first table to order, yet two other tables were served before us. Our waitress, the new one, apologized and said something went wrong - five more minutes for order to arrive. Ok, no problem. Guess mistakes happen, especially if in-experienced. So our order arrives, sans the four cheese sandwich for our young daughter. By this time it is more than 30 minutes since we first ordered. We remind the waitress. There is some discussion between the waitresses and the cooks. 10 or 15 minutes later the cooks walk out with smiles - I guess they needed a smoke break to deal with the stress of messing up orders. The waitresses both went to see if there were any more items to deliver. None. We of course had enough. Check please. The in-experienced waitress brings the bill and still wants to charge us for the cheese sandwich. Saying it has been ordered. Oh boy. Lost my cool a bit. The other waitress fixed the situation for us. Simple enough to remove the non delivered sandwich. After we had paid and were leaving, the two cooks reappeared, all smiles. They knew they had left our order, the waitresses were not happy. And neither were we. Unbelievable.More

I don’t get it? The server completely ignored us for 10 mins. Her opening line is “what do you want to drink?” Oh, and by the way “Hello” I said. The whole time staff were hanging out in the corner table eating and socializing on...their own. A miserable experience to endure for subpar food and warm overpriced beer and cocktails.More

No more Bocas for me. I used to be a fan and have recommended Bocas to several friends for a casual bite. I came in with a work party of 6 this evening. Clearly there were tables and space available but the two ladies working...there tried to seat us at a table of 4. They were absolutely rude and refused to accommodate us despite there being plenty of space. Needless to say we left. Very disappointing. I will never go back and would not recommend Bocas to anyone who values being treated with kindness and respect when they are out to eat. Who wants to spend their hard earned money being treated like crap ? Not us. Plenty of other nice casual restaurants in westerstraat who treat their clients better.More

Tried to eat here and the waitress ignored us. We’re told it was impossible to get a table no matter what time (we arrived at 7 and would have come back any time) wouldn’t reserve a table for us. Almost seemed like they only gave...tables to people they knew.More

After a visit to Anne Frank house late afternoon, we arrived here around 6pm. The place was quite quiet, and we enjoyed chatting to the girl behind the bar about the beers on offer. We ordered a tapas meat sharing platter, on her recommendation just...a small one, and fries 3 ways. Boy oh boy, it was enough food and everything was delicious. Would definitely come back here, great value too, and a great selection of tapas dishes to choose from.More
