Reserved table online on sunday. They called on monday to confirm and told me the dinner will be at the terrace due to the warm weather and to remember to bring a vest. Nice detail. Good welcome and fast but not rushing service. Very correct and friendly. Big terrace with fleece blankets on the chairs, another nice detail. We took... More

It is a fun and relaxed atmosphere here, the staff is typically Amsterdam... friendly and to the point, may seem a bit short to the regular traveller but definitely proper. The cocktails are good although the variety of choice is rather classic. The food is good, and the portions are well sufficient to replenish the energy after a day of... More

Surprisingly good service in a fancy and friendly restaurant. From outside is doesn't look as nice from the inside, but it's worth to enter for sure

Fresh made to order. First meal in Amsterdam and I didn't disappoint. My friend recommended this place. Had the smoked salmon. Would return.

Very good food which is really well presented. Portions are not big. You can easily order the 3 courses menu.

Just had a lovely dinner with friends at The Lobby. The menu is small but well thought out, and the very friendly servers checked in frequently to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. Would definitely recommend.

I booked online a week or so before our trip and I'm glad I did as the whole restaurant was packed with tables turning over quickly. Most of the diners were locals, which is always a good place to be. Service was very good - until after the starters were cleared away then it slowed down considerably. This wasn't a... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
