Really enjoyed stopping here after touring the Rijks. The menu offers a great selection so you can have a full meal or snacks. I ordered the cake of the month and espresso. The wait staff were incredibly busy yet efficient, and I never felt ignored or passed by. By the way, the cake of the month was made of 5... More

Like most customers, we had spent hours in the museum. We were glad to have a convenient cafe near the museum at which to get lunch. We ordered sausage hotdogs, soda, brownies and tea. The brownies were the best I've ever had. I definitely recommend them. The rest of the meal was fine too. Service was friendly, but incredibly slow.... More

If you are in the area and don't want to visit the Rejiksmuseum, you don't have to pay to go in the museum to have a coffee or eat in here as the entrance is off the pavement that goes under it. Although some reviewers think it's a bit pricey, unlike some of the stands on Museumplein which are also... More

After a three hour walk in Rijks, we didn't wait too long at around 3pm to have a table for two for an afternoon break. Everything seems fresh and tasty. Take a decent rest when you are tired there before you head to another rooms of arts.

Large cafe with a smallish menu of very fresh salads, sandwiches and desserts. A bit pricey but most museum restaurants are.

After wandering around looking at floor upon gloor of great artwork through the centries, this is a very pleasant way to rest your feet and relax over a very good cup of coffee and a duch cake. Food good setting wonderful, staff very friendly, immaculately clean. Not too expensive either. Worth a visit

We ducked in to get off our feet for a bit. It's a nice space. My father and I shared a cheese plate, which was all right, but what we were actually impressed by was mom's basic sandwich. Definitely not cheap, but much higher quality than what American museum-goers might expect.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
