There are much better places to eat! These guys don't put any prices on their menu and you'll find out why at checkout when you are charged outrageous prices for extremely mediocre fair. No receipt was forthcoming either. Give a wide berth!

We stopped there and ordered Dutch breakfast, orange juices, hot chocolates and coffee for the whole family. Tables were rearranged to accommodate a family of 6, food was served within 10 minutes, we were out within 30 minutes. Nice traditional atmosphere and decoration, a great way to start the day in Amsterdam !

Lovely, fresh ingredients, open early. The owner is just perfect and speaks English. Located near the Westermkt stop and near the Anne Frank House.

This is the place to have a bite and some rest after a long walk! Food is home made and healthy, staff are very nice. The menu is limited though. I totally recommend. Et Bonne apetit!-)

A typical Amsterdam lunchroom where you will only find Amsterdammers. The friendly ladies that work there speak with an Amsterdam accent and will serve you Dutch specialties like broodje kroket or erwtensoep with roggebrood and katenspek. For a true Amsterdam feeling, you should definitely check this out. And it is great quality for a great price!

We stopped off for a quick sandwich lunch and service was excellent and food very good. Rolls were very tasty and well filled. I had a cheese salad and Raymond one of the meatball specials - both were delicious. Nice to sit outside and watch the world go by!

Stopped here because it was close to our accommodation and we were pleasantly surprised. Latte was delicious, one of the best we had during our time in Amsterdam. Had the "dutch breakfast" two slices of toast, ham or bacon and eggs. The ladies working were bright and cheery and welcomed us warmly - they spoke great english as well. Try... More

We stopped at Broodje Mokum starving, and had heard about their meatball sandwich, so we decided to try it. Let's just say it's an OK sandwich, it will fill your stomach but don't expect anything extraordinary. The meatballs are sort of bland, they came warm which was good and there were enough of them to fill the bread, but there... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
