Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to have a breakfast. Savoury breadrolls are delicious, sweet pancake is fluffy, beer and coffee is tasty. Staff is friendly and professional.

Just off a transatlantic flight on a cold and nasty day, jetlagged and unable to check in to our hotel, we decided to "kill some time" at this nearby restaurant, and we were SO glad we did. It is in one of the oldest buildings...in Amsterdam and exudes charm and character, located right on a canal. The wait staff couldn't have been more kind and the breakfast was fantastic - just what we needed to start our Dutch experience and feel so welcome. Go there if you can!More

Our Hotel is just 2min walk away and we visited twice on our trip. It’s very centrally located, less than 5 mins from Centraal Station and right on the end of the canal with a great view up the canal from some of the tables....It was very wet and cold on our first visit and we were pleased to have a snack and some drinks to dry out. The Apple Pie was great and the Fries generous along with a decent dark beer and a Gluhwein. We returned a few days later and had a meal including Satay, Club Sandwich and more Apple pie. All of the food was well prepared and served hot and really enjoyable. It’s a good option for either snacks, drinks or a full meal and the long history of the building is the added attraction.More

Stopped for lunch before walking through the city. Started with bitterballs which were wonderful. They are fried beef stew balls served with mustard. Ten was plenty, especially after we received our Irish burger with fries. I didn’t have the dutch pancakes but they are generous...in size n look amazing. The service was great. Plus I love the history of the establishment, 1487.More

A lovely situated bar/restaurant with a terrace that overlooked onto the canal. The weather was so hot when I visited and so sat inside for some shade which was lovely. I was served by a lovely woman who advised me on portion sizes and I'm...glad I got two croquettes instead of three as I thought they would be like British sized croquettes but no they were much bigger. I went to the ladies toilets down some awkward steps and was surprised to see that I was water level and a duck swam past! But i would recommend this place for food and drinks and a relaxing atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff too!More
