I meant to write this review months ago. I am not normally one to photograph my food, but the presentation was so beautiful that I snapped photos of several courses. It tasted wonderful too. Everyone was very nice and accommodating (they did a fantastic job swapping in crab during one course when they found out that I did not like... More

We were two good friends visiting Ciel Bleu in November 2016. Among its attractions was the fact that it was open on a Monday. We started out in the bar next to the restaurant. Nice bar, but the seating is such that you sit on leather seat with your back against the windows for the main bar, which is a... More

I hesitated for some time in doing a review of this restaurant. As the score of each restaurant on tripadvisor is made through the average ratings of their customers, and assuming the ratings are not biased, it is fair to assume that the score will be a truethful reflection of the quality that we can expect in a given restaurant.... The greeting at the bottom of the lift is welcoming, then the staff at the top are also the same. The setting is cosy, comfy chairs or long quirky sofa & mirrored ceiling art. We had a cocktail to start, was presented in a pineapple, never seen a drink like it. The appetisers were fabulous, tiny food parcels with a... More

This Michelin** restaurant is a strong competitor for the world's best dining with a view: situated on the top floor of the swanky Okura hotel it allows you to see Amsterdam's lights glittering below while enjoying phenomenal food with a Japanese touch. Great service, sleek decor, it's all very impressive. Take tea instead of coffee after dinner, for the experience!

Wonderful view, wonderful food. All dishes were very delicious, perfectly presented. Just missing a bit of emotions due to the fix choice.

We had a wonderful meal. It may very well have been the best in my life! The staff was friendly and had a good knowledge of the origin of the food and the wine.

Probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. It is situated in the Okura Hotel, on the 23rd floor. This offers a stunning view of Amsterdam! But it is all about the food. Cielo Blue has 2 Michelin stars, and that is well deserved. We had the 9-course chef's menu (with thanks to chefs Onno Kokmeijer and Arjan Speelman), with... More

We had an absolutely excellent experience at Ciel Bleu. Food was fantastic, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. After our meal we even had a tour of the kitchen and got to meet the chef. The sommelier was extremely knowledgable and the wines paired perfectly with each course. Definitely deserving of their 2 michelin stars!

Description
One of Amsterdam's most remarkable restaurants, situated on the 23rd floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, the Ciel Bleu Restaurant has been awarded two Michelin stars and, much like the adjacent Twenty Third Bar, offers a stunning panoramic view of Amsterdam's city centre. This breathtaking vista and the luxurious design, together with the personal hospitality, all combine to create a unique atmosphere. The Ciel Bleu Restaurant's ambitious kitchen staff serve an international cuisine, prepared with seasonal products and characterised by its innovation. The Sommelier's professionalism and close cooperation with Executive Chef and Manager Onno Kokmeijer results in a perfect harmony between wine and food. The Ciel Bleu Restaurant also offers three luxurious private areas: the Starlight Room, the Salon Panoramique, and the Chef's Table in the restaurant's kitchen.

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
