Really enjoyed everything about this place - the food, the rustic interior, the staff and of course the resident cat - all amazing. My new local!

Excellent service, very cosy and delicious food! I had the soup of the day and the vegetables quiche and it was very yummy. Definitely go there if you want something vegetarian and cosy.

Our visit to De Bolhoed (meaning Bowler's hat) was a spur of the moment decision, more on the urging of my vegan daughter. What a lovely surprise. This place oozes character, the inside is casual dining with brightly coloured walls and eclectic furnishings. What you get here is lots of lovely fresh food and generous portions. On offer are sandwiches,... More

My partner and I popped in here for lunch, not realising it was Veggie/Vegan. We ordered Greek Salad and Soup. The food was fantastic: one other word 'Fresh'. Would highly recommend, service was quick (in a city where service can be "relaxed") and prices very reasonable. Drops one star on personal taste, as furniture and decoration a little dated.

Loved this place - good choice of tasty vegan dishes - and cakes too! Very relaxed vibe. Beautifully decorated.

Food in de Bolhoed is solidly vegetarian. The portions are ok in size and the choice on the menu was reasonable. It was a pity that so much of the meal was based on carbs- it all tasted the same and I missed the texture of protein and vegetables. I had couscous with a filo-wrapped parcel with butternut or pumpkin... More

We booked in advance turned up and ordered. Nice place. The lady serving wasn't that friendly but the choices were good if fairly limited. The problem is we waited about an hour for our food which was confusing and annoying. The food was good when it arrived but by then we were past hungry. Wouldn't recommend due to slow, rather... Partner and I went for dinner 2.10.16. Ordered a starter, main meal (vegan dish of the day)and Mexican 3 course special. Starters arrived no problem then my enchilada came after about 20 mins but no vegan main meal after a further 20 mins asked the staff regarding vegan dish and was told it was coming, my dessert then came and... Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
