We visited on 12th January, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. I had emailed in advance that it was for our anniversary (and engagement- got engaged that afternoon), and they surprised us with a little treat. The food was delicious. We tried the rabbit stew and it was 'melt in your mouth' good. The chocolate dessert was the best,... More

We had some fantastic food here, great wine and the staff were fantastic! Rabbit stew was to die for and the Dutch cheese (minus yucky goat) were stunning! Recommend a visit

I had a lovely meal here with business colleagues whilst in Amsterdam. It's not an area of the city I am familiar with so probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise. The portion sizes are much smaller than I would usually like but the food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. Excellent wine list too! Service was very good and the... More

I have been coming here, on trips to Amsterdam, for about five years. Anyways been excellent. The food can best be deserving as a Dutch French fusion. The product is all very fresh/ local and the menu changes with the seasons. For autumn they had a game menu and when we were there it was a festive menu. All the... More

A little on the pricy side but first class food, especially the heavenly mud dessert. We got in without booking but it was busy.

Interestingly this restaurant has a one seating service which means that you could easily spend 3 hours over your dinner. Good place if you are planning to have a long leisurely dinner with friends. Broth of mixed mushroom was delicious as was the croquettes of hare ragout. For main course the steak was tender and tasty although the Panfried duck... More

On our recent trip to Amsterdam we ate here twice. The staff are really helpful and welcoming. The ambience is warm and buzzy and the food excellent. It's modern, cooked with flair and fresh ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the fish soup and the fish main courses, though there are meat and vegetarian dishes available.

I came here with a work colleague at the last minute. We chose Hemelse Modder based on TripAdvisor ratings. We were not disappointed. Although very busy on a Wednesday night, we enjoyed excellent service and great food. My sea bass was perfectly prepared and fresh. Their bread is addictive (as are most freshly-baked Dutch breads). We enjoyed an excellent wine... More

Had dinner here on a Tuesday evening. Still very well filled, but not too busy. Service is laid-back but attentive. Overall very happy with the food and wine. their beggie options are great. The Beet-Wellington was delicious. No complaints whatsoever.

This was a wonderful quaint restaurant close to a canal in an older house converted into a restaurant. The food was outstanding -- we went to the restaurant twice while we were in Amsterdam and were amazed at the meals! There was a special each night -- the first night we had the fish special and the second night we... More
