Reasonable priced, small but cute. Vegan options and great with allergy concerns! Oh, and of course very yummy!

Pancakes are served in a rolled form , like Japanese sushi. You choose your own fillings. Savoury or sweet. Waffles are also served here. They also served an unique organic soft serve ice cream. Good for dessert. Seating capacity are like bar stools, only about 10. Pancakes are pretty satisfying. This is not a restaurant, good for takeaways, or stand to eat. Prices are reasonable.

What a great way to start each morning in Amsterdam! And the potential combinations is, well I'm not certain, but I'm fairly certain that its a really big number. But you can eat here every morning and have a different type of"rolled"pancake each day. I really liked the Dutch Delight (gouda & fig jam) while The Wife had strawberries & hazelnut. The Happy Pig is located in a small alleyway and has a storefront about 3 meters wide. There will be very limited seating and usually seems busy, so be forewarned. Cheerful staff, too. If you take the food to go, you're about 1 block from a park (Begijnhof), and a canal, and maybe an available bench.

lovely pancakes!!! also do vegan pancakes too which is AWESOME. we waited about 20 mins, but its okay since it's all freshly made! however it is a little pricey since its €5.95 BEFORE adding any toppings... each are €1+ per item. could also do with more toppings (we had lemon & sugar) as they only gave us a thin slice of lemon so it wasn't very lemony!!!

We went to get some good Dutch waffles, but they were burned, thin and tasted like nothing. The waiter were unfriendly and not complying with any corona respect - no mask, used gloves but touched everything else with those as well (dried off his drink with the gloves etc). He also spoke to a co-worker about how they shouldn’t drink that much before work etc., as if we didn’t understand Dutch. Considering all this; it is very overpriced and not worth a visit.

Clearly unacceptable, the staff was really unpleasant.
I was brushing my hair after a day in the wind when the waitress told me to do that outside.
Then one of my friend noticed on the receipt that she paid for a traditional pancake instead of the vegan she ordered. When she asked if the pancake was going to be vegan, the same waitress told her that she was wrong and to lose the worried face.
Too bad cause the food was good.

Travelling with a friend who eats a vegan diet we hunted for places that served vegan options. This place is tiny but the food is amazing!! We had the vegan pancake and a non vegan waffle which was great. About €15 total but seems standard Amsterdam prices.

The Happy Pig offers an array of toppings for a vegan pancake. The most delicious dessert I have enjoyed during my trip was the vegan pancake with fresh strawberry and the chocolate-hazelnut sauce.
Come early to skip the long line ;)

This is breakfast / lunch you don’t want to miss. Options for vegan (dairy free if needed) and fresh fruit specials daily. Waffles available all can have a wide variety of toppings to meet everyone needs. Made to order, polite, and the facility is clean. Eco friendly. Coffee products are excellent!

We went here with our 5 year old coeliac daughter after reading online (and checking their menu) that they did GF pancakes.
On asking, they don’t as they can’t guarantee preparation, so as we were leaving I asked one of
The chefs - can you recommend anywhere with gluten free pancakes?
Practically shouting he said “if anyone tells you there are serving you GF pancakes, they are lying. There are no GF kitchens”… I tried to make a joke and say “mine at home is” which seemed to make him worse and he carried on being ridiculous. I wasn’t listening, just more concerned my little girl was listening to this Person.
This was all in front of my little girl who is highly aware of her disease and then was hugely upset by this person basically saying there was no safe place for her to eat. She proceeded to cry outside saying “why do I have to be coeliac” etc.We had been prepared for the visit and checked everything, even tried calling with no answer, to
Try and make
Sure we didn’t make her walk across
Amsterdam for nothing.
I am glad they were honest about not being able to guarantee GF, so for that they deserve the one star, but there was no need to put it across this way, and no need to do that in front of my daughter.
We went to lots of places That have separate gluten free areas to their kitchens and who could prepare food. Happy pig isn’t one of them.
Please don’t go here if you are coeliac.

This place is a hidden GEM! If you blinked you might walk past it, but DONT! The pancakes are made fresh and hot, loads of sauce and toppings.. and the ice cream is just amazing, especially with the salted caramel sauce on top.. just wow. We went back twice! Also don’t think they’re ‘small’ - they are sooo filling!

I ordered the vegan rolled pancake with strawberries, bananas, chocolate sauce and powdered sugar.
I tend to have a sweet tooth in the morning, so this was the perfect breakfast! I love how they make the pancakes right in front of you. The fruit tasted super fresh and they were not stingy! The rolled pancake was slightly difficult to eat, but that made it fun! The employees were kind, the space was cute, and it was in a central location! Overall, the pancakes were a great snack, and a sweet experience.

This used to be my favorite place to visit in Amsterdam, but after this visit, never again. Never had such rude service by the OWNER/CHEF from any establishment before. They DO NOT have gluten free options anymore, they should be removed from their menu & when our order of waffles was incorrect, the blame was put on us. Pancakes were ok.

We popped by and grabbed some of the vegan pancakes with lemon and sugar, fab for those with allergy concerns like myself. Good portions - myself and my partner shared it for a dessert and it was perfect. Only thing is everything is made to order so the wait was quite long but definitely worth it if you have a sweet tooth.

I visited the cafe about 4pm and it was really quiet with lots of tables free. The lady who made my pancake was lovely! There is something on the menu for everyone - vegan, non vegan, gluten free, sweet or savoury. I went for a vegan pancake with apple filling and lemon and sugar topping. It was so delicious (you would never know it’s vegan!) and huge! Looking forward to returning and trying some more flavours!
