We were given this recommendation by our hotel. Our dinner was average- my gluten free pasta was inedible. I found this surprising given the amount of great GF pastas on the market. Most of the dishes we are were average with the exception of one dish that my husband enjoyed. The service was very good despite being very busy but... More

As always, the food was perfect. The pappardelle with fresh suasge I had, where silky smooth, incredible. The hazelnut dessert the nicest way to forget any diet. Wines affordable and good. Service also adequate. Just a pity we seemed to have booked a temporary table, which meant we were asked to leave after two hours of fine dining.

I rarely write reviews, only when it is really bad or really good. Good food but the service really has something to be desired. There were six of us that snagged a table at 6pm but had to be out by 8pm. No problem. We were really just grabbing something to eat not looking for a dining experience. Either way... More

Went for quick business dinner. Waiting staff understands difference between biz dinner and casual. Left us alone and only "disturbed" at the right moments. Staff very very friendly and skilled. Good and extensive winelist with affordable good wines. Food was magnificent, especially the Buratina as a starter. Will come back.

The food was decent, so I have no issue with that - but the service absolutely ruined the entire experience, leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I'm laughing as I write this review, because the situation seems more like something that would happen on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I'll keep this quick but here are 2 things... More

The food was perfect, almost. The Firsts Spaghetti and Ravioli were amazingly perfect but the second Rib-Eye was just good. It might be the pasta were so good that i didn't care for anything else. Great atmosphere and friendly staff and they seem to know their wines pretty well.

Vibrant place with open kitchen but It was a bit disappointing especially since I came for it after I had been there years ago a couple of times with good friends. Service now was poor, not adequately 'on the ball' to make it an evening out and the pasta with fish was blend, slightly over cooked and the sauce just... More

Having visited Toscanini with our young kids, we went there again with them, now aged 20 and 23. We opted for the 5 course menu, but after taking the order, we were largly ignored as more 'important' guests arrived. The waitresses spent more time chatting to regulars and amongst themselves instead of serving us and other ' non-locals' , so... More

We ate here twice the last time in Amsterdam. Had to go back. Worth it. The food, wine, service and the energy were all outstanding. Our waitress was fantastic. The bottle of wine we ordered was not up to our expectations. Without hesitation she replaced the wine with a vey good and more expensive wine saying she would not charge... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
