I went here with some colleagues from work at the suggestion of another colleague. The food was good, interesting interior. We sat upstairs and thought we were lucky to get our table (had a reservation). However service was painfully slow and they basically forgot about our food. We watched as others got served around us which was tough as two... More

Recommended to our group by a local, this place is a little off the beaten path but the food was SO GOOD. Huge portion sizes and the food came out super fast. The space is pretty awesome - two stories of restaurant inside an old converted church that has gotten a significant facelift courtesy of some brightly colored paint and... More

A friend recommended that we visit this restaurant when we were in Amsterdam and we were not disappointed. We would not have found this place had my friend not told us about it. The food was amazing and the price of the food was even better! Really decent prices for the quality of food and service you receive. You really... More

Location : Walkable from Museiumplein. Even with public transport expect a walk of 10 mins. At Entrance it's a bit quiet so look for the exact address on the maps and keep looking for the signboard. Approachable via pram. Ambience : Unique ambience. A very high ceiling,Two floor ceiling to be precise, gives it a grandular and classic look. The... More

If it's reasonable prices and generous portions you're after, this is the place for you! Set up in what I believe is an old synagogue, this restaurant offers a great atmosphere that always seems to be buzzing. The food is of different North-African / Middle-Eastern origin and there are plenty of interesting new dishes to choose from. I would recommend... More

The large lunch was a good mezze. Value for money and cheap draft beers. Chicken wings were amazing. The atmosphere was a little lacking when we visited around 4.30pm and the decor was lacking.

This place is awesome. It's located in an old church, I think, and it's BIG. There's only one big room and the tables are located on the ground floor as well as on the gallery. The tables, the walls and the lights are really colourful and it is lound. But that makes the place even more authentic. So as you... More

We have been just twice in this restaurant and we are gonna go much more. Nice food, so much food and very good price. People there is nice and the place is so cool. It used to be a church so the decoration is so fancy. Recommended!

Not considering the anonimous and cold service (which disappoints a lot in a Middle-Eastern environment, but doesn't surprise in the Netherlands), I must admit that food was very good. Tabbouleh salad comes without seasoning, which is not great, but all the vegetables are fresh, the presentation of the dishes is extremely good, the felafel are delicious and the portions are... Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
