Ate here on a Tuesday for lunch with two friends. Service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! Very nice atmosphere and decor, behind such unassuming doors, hidden behind some market stalls. Will definitely come here again!

This place is great! I have been to the Bazar in Rotterdam and was already very positive about the concept. In Amsterdam it is just as great. Amazing food for very fair prices.

Large restaurant on 2 levels with really good atmosphere and decor. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Portion sizes were generous, especially when considering the price. Service was also very good. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I love hummus and falafel and all kind of Turkish, Lebanese, North African - well, all kinds of Middle Eastern - food. And there is so much of it here. It's quite good and the big hall you eat in is beautiful and cozy. There is a massive street market outside some days. It's definitely worth a visit. And it's... More

We were recommended to go to bazar-walking along a dark quiet and dirty road with the roadsweepers tidying up after the market that day we were a bit worried where we were going. We found the church and all seemed dark til we drew back the heavy curtains which acted as a door and WOW we could have been transported... More

Aft a morning of walking at Albert Cuypmarkt, we stopped by this little gem, recommended by my sister. Didnt have anything to eat since we had something to eat outside so we had drinks and dessert instead. The coffee was GREAT! Came in cute little mugs (i secretly wanted to bring home the mugs). Had the apple pie to and... More

Wow I just love to crockery and the food is just brilliant - came in here as it is quite a unique location. (An old abandoned synagogue) do yourself a favour and visit this place, the service is very relaxed and the whole experience is quite a trip!

This is a huge restaurant which looks to be a converted old synagogue painted blue. They have a great assortment on items on the menu, from chicken, to fish, and even veggie options. Bottle of wine is also reasonably priced.

So you've been banging around the market on the Cuypstraat for the last couple of hours and aren't sure where to take a load off. This, my friends, is your Mecca. Healthy portions of great middle-eastern/north-African food and something for everyone on the menu. The service is brusque, but friendly, and the prices are right, especially given the quantity of... Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
