Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Looks boring from the outside but was really a nice place. Almost full at 7 a Thursday evening. Great beer, the food we rate between 3.5 and 4. It was quite basic. However we really recommend the place since we really appreciated the rustic environment,...music and staff.More

Undercooked tri-tip inside and still stood for too long in the oven so that the steak was very chewy on the inside and dry on the outside, Spanish Paella also undercooked rice and pieces of squid inedible, cold. both dishes were lightly seasoned. When I...complained to the waitress about the staleness toughness of the tri-tip she offered to replace it with a new tri-tip, but since it is low/slow cooking, I did not accept the new one, then she offered to remove the dish from the bill, but when paying the bill, this did not happen. The only thing that was good was the carpaccio. Was there 28.6.2022. 19.10More

Current COVID conditions are challenging for restaurants, but this was a very disappointing experience. We arrived around 5:45pm, ordered a beer and bitter balls around 6pm and a bottle of wine around 6:30pm. By 7pm we were ready to order a single-course dinner to learn...only at 7:15pm, after having waited for 15 minutes for a waiter to come by, that the kitchen was closed and ordering food was no longer possible. Even a salad could not be ordered anymore. We finished the wine, had to wait another 15 minutes because, apparently, the bill had disappeared from the computer system, and left just before 8pm: almost drunk and very hungry. Transparency about time restrictions and some flexibility and shared responsibility with regards to having the place cleared at 8pm would have greatly improved the overall experience.More

I had a meal here with my son a few weeks ago. It was a busy Friday night before Christmas and they still made a great effort to squeeze us in. We opted for the fondu as my son had visited before and though it...was excellent. Indeed it was. The staff were very efficient and courteous too. I shall return.More

My search for a great Dutch BLT has finally been rewarded! Generous crispy bacon with plenty of tomato and lush greens on delicious bread - served open face style! I was in heaven! The rest of the menu is surely high quality. I also enjoyed...a fresh mint ginger ale with lots of ice - another rarity in the Netherlands. An atmospheric restored industrial interior with beautiful views on the water was a bonus. Also, adding to the allure, they serve special microbrewery beers, use local organic produce, host high teas, and even have a kid’s corner! Very reasonable prices and a delightful staff guarantee I’ll be back the next time I’m in Delft. And it’s only a short walk from the train station!More

We enjoyed most of all the beautiful atmosphere of the old and restored industrial building. The food was good, not outstanding but very enjoyable. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The location is very pleasant, next to some moorings. The food was good but not great. The serving staff, however was great. They seem to be the happiest people around. They were friendly, attentive and effecient. Altogether it made for a very pleasant dinner.

Doing a search for 'ethnic' restaurants (I couldn't think of a more proper or elaborate word), I found this place and immediately became curious particularly after seeing the raving reviews. One noteworthy positive upon arrival is that it is conveniently located right off route 279....From the outside, it in no way stands out as anything extravagant and appears as nothing more than a local bar. I got a similar impression when entering both from the overall interior, which seemed small and simplistic, and from the clientele that clearly seemed like regulars. I was seated at one of the high tables by my server who greeted me in friendly manner. I ordered the Cucumber Side Salad, Chicken Paprikas, and Gundel Palacsinta for dessert. The salad was delicious and refreshing with the cucumbers intricately cut and very nicely presented. The Paprikas was absolutely amazing and was arguably one of the best dishes I've ever had. I loved the consistency of the noodles and also the chicken which was so tender. The sauce was delicious and really made my recent change in direction away from the sweeter thai and vietnamese style curries and plates that I'd normally go for, towards a more sour slash savory eastern european palette a well worthy one. While unfortunately they were out of my first dessert choice, the Somoloi Galuska, the crepes I had were delicious and the ingredients that I initially questioned as strange, complemented each other very well. The apricot jam was not too sweet or overpowering which allowed the chocolate sauce to dominate the sweetness and flavor...it tasted very very good! I should add that I had a white wine, the Hungarian Oddity, which was dry and while strong went very well with my meal. The server who was very friendly talked to me and asked me what brought me to the venue. I told her the aforementioned reason noted in this review in addition to coming down for the St. Patrick's day Parade. I believed she mentioned the owner/chef was straight from Hungary and that aided to the authenticity of the food. In addition to one of the best meals I've ever had, what really made me appreciate this venue was that in no way is it presented in any sophisticated, grandiose manner that other 'ethnic' or unique out-of-the-norm venues often are, screaming for your attention and trying hard to attract those yearning for that unique and extraordinary dining experience, like myself (not that there is anything wrong with that as it is all part of the marketing). As mentioned, this place looks nothing more than just a regular hole in the wall, that has nothing to prove to anyone and isn't screaming for tourists or out-of-towners like me, but serves damn good Hungarian food, and damn good food in general, that will have me not only coming back, but bringing some lucky friends as well. Nice and charming place, with a nice view of the canals, boats, lights and old/new Delft. Good beers from all over Holand and more. Is refurbished and at this place they produced the windows frames of Van Nellefabriek.
