Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hidden gem. I'll tell all my contacts to go there at least once. I enjoyed everything, the ambiance, the food, the service. It's really of high quality while being friendly.

Great place to visit. Great service , friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Food was great and I would highly recommend a visit. Wasn’t cheap but worth the money . Never been to anywhere like it before.

We love De Pijp! Good food, nice beers, and friendly staff. It is not cheap, but you get your money's worth. Been there twice now and will be back!

I've been visiting De Pijp since 1987 and brought friends and family to this special place. Decor - perfect; Atmosphere - all of its own; Team - those working at de Pijp are, the best; Food and drink - hey, this is my favourite restaurant...in the world!More

We had a company reunion in this lovely and peculiar restaurant. We were 20 people and the service was really perfect. Fast and very polite. I was the only vegetarian and they prepared two nice meals for me. Very professional they asked me to choose...from different option but I have asked to do them self and surprise me and the food was very nice. All the meat eaters were very happy about the food also.More

This is an old bike shop shut by the Nazis and turned into a restaurant, we called in after the kitchen had closed but the chef turned the coolers back on to serve up some steaks. The staff were really friendly, the food was great....There are some great artefacts and pictures on the walls which make any visit quite unique. We were recommended the venue by some local bar staff - they did us a favour.More

This is a rather old fastioned place with a limited selection of beer and wine. The food was good but expensive for what you got. The staff were dressed like in a 1930’s American gangster speakeasy. All in all it was a disappointing visit. For...a place that is a beer handle they had only heinekin on draught.More

Poor and expensive menu. Accidentally I spilled my wine which they were not willing to replace. Very unfriendly service. Its an old mans hangout.

This is a real traditional place where you return and even after decades, you recognize everything. A “easy going” place with a great atmosphere where you feel being a student again. Good selection of food even with some very traditional Dutch plates. Friendly service makes...it complete. Always a pleasure to returnMore

This was a recommendation made to us on the ferry over by a frequent visitor to Rotterdam and we thank him for it. It would be really easy to walk right past, so discreet is the entrance. I was convinced it could only be a...pub and found it difficult to imagine there being any food on offer but, once inside, you could hardly miss the cooking area! In the words of a previous reviewer, it is hard to imagine Health & Safety letting this one through the net back here so dark and dingy is the inside but, frankly, I don't care. The food is cooked in front of you, the staff are friendly and efficient and my liver, bacon and fried potatoes were fab. It may be wise to book if you can but take a chance even if you haven't.More

Really worth experiencing - for the quirky atmosphere, old decoration, young waiters in white jackets and the kitchen stove in the middle of everything! Effective service, very good quality food: we had as starters the beef carpaccio and the dutch shrimps with cocktail sauce, as...main the entrecôte with roquefort cheese - everything very tasty! But we were happy to have arrived early on a Saturday night (6:45) as it seemed fully booked and we were lucky to be seated on a table for 10 in the two middle places... so we could finish our dinner before the other guests arrived! A small revelation: cinnamon icecream with whipped cream and almond cookies! A must try... Dinner for two for 55€.More

This may not be the best cuisine in town, this may not be the most glamorous atmosphere nor the most sophisticated service. But it is all coherent and friendly. The efficient and friendly service, the relatively simple menu, the relaxed “old boys club” atmosphere (ladies...of course welcome) and decoration, the well executed simple cuisine etc. It all matches and provides a great platform for an excellent evening. At a reasonable priceMore

Very friendly and casual dining experience with great food. The front door is deceiving as you think it is a side entrance so where you see the sign, thats the entrance door. Super friendly staff and unique as the kitchen is in the open. We...had a mixture if appetizers and steak main options and were very happy. We did make a reservation but on a weeknight aound 6pm, there was lots of capacity.More
