About
« La brouette » is the house of the corporation of the “graissiers”. It is Saint-Gilles, their patron saint, who watches over the destiny of this welcoming and rustic tavern. Open fire, ancient chandeliers, “patinés” floors and well-dressed waiters are some elements that will assure a good moment. The menu accommodates small hungers but big ones too. While making your choice you can savour a “pils” or a special beer”. This pleasant place allows you to “play tourist” from time to time to contemplate this unique Grand Place that Victor Hugo loved so much!

The view on the "Grande Place" from La Brouette is quite nice... but you don't need to stop at La Brouette to enjoy the view. In fact, you DO NOT need to stop by LA Brouette. The selection of beers is rather limited and we...More

It's worth eating here even just for the view on the square. Typical dishes of the Belgian cuisine (chicory graten, meatballs, etc). but also hamburgers, French fries or cakes. Informal and welcoming service; wide selection of beers. Resonable prices and medium-size portions.

We entered La Brouette because of its walk up appeal and were all impressed with the inviting atmosphere. A warm fire, comfortable seating and great food and wine (mussels, stew). The service was also excellent. It was too cold to sit outside but can only...More

We wandered in for dinner after walking to the Grand Place. It feels a little "touristy" but was just the right thing on a cold night after a long flight to Brussels. Great beer selection along with a hot soup was perfect. I'd love to...More

My favourite restaurant in Old Brussels! Right on Grand Place, this old house has a warm fire to keep you cosy, is warmly lit and decorated and makes you feel like you are in an old cottage somewhere in the Middle Ages. The menu is...More

Recently enjoyed dinner here on my last night in Brussels. The food was excellent and the service good. The location in the Grand Place provided the perfect backdrop to unwind and relax after a long day.

Great atmosphere but staff are too busy take order. You have to consider wait for long minutes give order and unhappy waiters. I think they don’t care negative comments. I can’t say bad thing about the foods.
