Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff very friendly and decor very nice. The carpaccio starter was good, and the pasta with sausages was really excellent. Cheese platter can be improved.

Excellent lunch in a lively street in Brussels . We started on the terrace with a very nice prosecco , bruscetta and the perfect linguine vongole . The service was perfect and the waiter very friendly . I’m very happy to have found this restaurant.... There are a lot of small shops in the streets , nice terraces , you have the feeling of freedom , a nice city trip in my own country . We will come back ! ThanksMore

Fantastic food and wine. First experience after covid-19 lockdown was great because of this place. They recommend us a great red Sicilian wine - loved it.

The food, the wine, the service ... everything was excellent. Simple yet refined italian food (mainly pasta). The place was packed and this in the middle of the week.

Very cozy place with best Italian pasta in the heart of Brussels. The service, meals and wine were at its best.

Lots of equally good and even better Italian restaurants in Brussels using quality products at more affordable prices, served to you with a smile instead of rudeness. They have a badly planned concept (very few items a la carte, choices in a set menu), and...force the entire party at a single table to take the menu (zero flexibility, even when informed that a person cannot eat pasta - the owner seriously suggested to order ham and cheese for dinner on a Saturday night). And after they force people to take set menus, they don't even manage to bring out the dishes on time (expect to spend a lot of time waiting for your food). We were also sat 40 min late while we had reservation without an apology, we had to ask them to bring us basic things like glasses for our water, and witnessed the owner being mean to the restaurant staff. Not a good experience overall.More

Good value Italian food that relies on fresh and good ingredients. 3 courses (antipasti - primo - secundo) for 35 euros, which is great value. try to book a table in the front of the restaurant as the back may feel a bit closed off....when the weather permits, there are a couple of tables on the pavement too.More

I liked the pasta dish, which was hot and al dente, the bread and the olive oil. Also liked that bread was refilled. The food was beautifully presented. The music was not loud. Good wine choices by the glass. Didn’t like: - cramped surroundings -...no oil, salt, and pepper on the table - had to ask for wipes (needed for a crab dish) and there was no dish for the shell - took over 45 min for the starters to arrive - my slow cooked egg was undersalted Overall this was too expensive for the experience and like other reviewers I didn’t like the system of everyone having to get the same number of courses.More

This is the second time that my boyfriend and I go to Signora Ava. Signora Ava offers creative dishes with fresh and tasty Italian ingredients. On the menu there is always at least a vegetarian option for each serving (my boyfriend is vegetarian). My boyfriend...and our friend thought the white turnip tartare, fresh ricotta with orange and peanuts as the appetizers was best. They also liked very much the pasta: rigatoni with eggplant cream and salted ricotta and the orecchiette with octopus, anchovies, tomatoes and capers. In my case I have a dietary restrictions that forces me to eat all cooked pureed food. The chef was so gracious to prepare something special for me: I had a puree of salty ricotta with asparagus and small tomatoes, then orecchiette with burrata and very tasty tomatoes and last I had the same (but in pureed version) of what my boyfriend took the glazed eggplants with smoked mozzarella, tomatoes compote (my boyfriend said was really nice and strong in flavor) and rucola salad water. We shared the panna cotta with mango and basil. I liked it very much because of the unusual combination but also because it was light and fresh. The restaurant is a small and cozy. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. A very gem of Brussels! I will be back once they change the menu (I think they change it every month).More

I went there with some friends and enjoyed the place and food. Nevertheless I didn't like so much the system of menus. Either all people at the table take the menu or all people at the table take à la carte (with less options). This...is not convenient for some groups. For example I don't eat a lot so one dish is enough while some friends need more food... Dishes à la carte cost 17 euros. As vegetarian who wanted to eat à la carte I had only one option. I know they change menu quite often so maybe in another occasion they will have more veggie dishes :) My pasta was very good but maybe 17 euros is a bit too much.More

Segnora Ava is run by a team of super friendly and energetic girls, the menu includes salads, pastas, some seafood items and is generally light, healthy with a major focus on the flavor of ingredients rather than sauces and spices. The interior deco is cool,...subtle, you feel like you're in a warm Italian living room/kitchen with soft pastels putting you at ease. I found the portions to be a little too small but i guess that goes with the concept of it being a spot where you wouldn't feel to heavy after the fact, so i would recommend ordering more plates to share if you're ravenous. The wine list is fabulous. Lovely spot for a tete a tete dinner.More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. The restaurant is a cozy kind of living room, pretty small but nicely decorated. Service was pretty good. We both ordered fresh pasta, and even though it was well made and tasted fresh, it was fairly basic...and we though the price did not match up to that. My boyfriend, who is a big eater, was not full at all after one main dish. So keep that in mind if you want to eat here :-)More

I mean, What could u possibly expect from a Osteria with an interessting menue and winelist (more or less all Italian) playing Spanish flamenco...? They seem to have ambitions, but can only deliver on parts of it.. Gruppa, wine and beef was excellent, service too,...but ambience and pasta was average... Will still try it one more time though....More

I have been to Signora Ava three times already. Great food, peculiar choice of plates (not the usual Italian dishes you find abroad), cooked with passion and competence.
