French food as it should be. A trip in time or even better, a trip in real food! If you like traditional French cuisine then this is a place not to miss in Liège (Luik).

Was passing by when I visited the Tourist Information Point. The outside-look of the very old non- refurbished restaurant urged me to step inside. It was about 11;30 am The headwaiter with all his staff were dressing tables ; He came immediatly to welcome me asking very politely how he could be of any help. Looking to the interior decorating... This restaurant deserves the highest review! I had the most amazing experience with just me and my partner last night. It was an impromptu evening as we wanted non fussy dining before our movie. We ended up skipping the movie as we wanted to take our time with our meal while enjoying the ambience of the bistro. Because we had... More

We had lunch in this restaurant yesterday as part of our tour of Liege. The place is very charming, cosy and full of nice memorabilia. The menu looked interesting, combination of local specialities like boulettes a la liegoise and french classics (escargots). My husband had a souris d'agneau. I had steak tartare, Both were very good. Fries were ok, nothing... More

We had dinner outside. Wine list is very over priced. Food portions are huge, but there is no vegetable with the main course at all. My husbands ribs were dry. My tartar was fine, but again, could have done with less meat and some veggies or salad. In general, when you order a starter, you expect a price for a... More

The staff was very good. My brother knew the owner and he was taking care of us. The mussels were delicious with the garlic sauce. The baby pork ribs were also excellent and the andouillette a la dijonaise was very tasty. The wines were also excellent. You can go there and you will be amazed.

We chose this place because we found it on a list of the best "boulets liégeois" and saw that the TripAdvisor reviews seemed to confirm its quality. Unfortunately, as it was our first night in Liège, we hadn't thought ahead to make a reservation. Thankfully we were still able to eat there, but in the basement. That said, the basement... More

I have to say, this is really a great place. The food is so delicious. Your mouth can tell it's far from microwaved food. I live the snails, the andouillette and the gratin de queue de bœuf. The last one was marvelous! Tha wait wasn't that long. They took half an hour to come and ask what we want but... More

Typical Local recipes with real food quality. Not much space though and can get a little noisy. Service is good and wine list well chosen.

We were recommended to go there through the Office de Tourism. It was a last minute booking on a Sunday lunch. The restaurant was full however the staff were gracious and efficient and the food was heavenly. The best Cafe De Liege ever tasted.
