I went there for lunch by myself and I had to stand up and go to the waitresses all the time because they didn't come to serve me to my table. They were folding the table clothes at the back of the restaurant, playing with their phones and talking talking talking. Very unprofessional.

It was a public holiday and we were looking for somewhere to have a late lunch after visiting the Cathedral and Belfry. The Belfort Restaurant was located nearby and provided both indoor and outdoor seating. Being a public holiday, and given its location on the plaza, it was busy but we were able to get a seat in the prime... More

good place for a quick lunch. They have 2 standard lunch dishes, which you can add soup and/or dessert. They add a special lunch, based on season vegetables, meat/fish. So you can chose from 3 dishes, with or without soup and desert. good and friendly service; Acceptable price. and perfect location.

Nice place to sit and watch the world go by on the terrace. When we were there someone was playing music from above. Free wifi. Amazing hot chocolate.

I have tried the steak and salmon, both were served with fresh cut fries. I know that a well-done steak can be tricky and perhaps 'not done' to be ordered, but I believe it is not impossible to be prepared. Here, the steak was at the edge of being charred. The salmon was good, just like the fries, but the... More

This resto changed concept. Menu is more limited, service went down very low. Food quality though remains good. Wine menu vanished, do not understand why. Pity!

I ate here for breakfast after a night out in Ghent. The service and food were both really good. As was the coffee. Would recommend.

If you want to go to an authentic place to eat or drink something, this is your worst choice. Very chaotic. Don't dare to ask why it takes long. Sorry, our fresh orange juice is finished. Here you have normal orange juice. Ok, do you change the bill? No... You ordered fresh orange juice and you have to pay. Dear... More

I have to adhere to a strict gluten free diet and it can be tricky sometimes to find food that is really gluten free. Here was a place I could have a lovely hot meal with no side effects. I went twice and each time had the pasta bolognese, it was really tasty. They also have GF bread, and the... More

The Belfort Restaurant will become a modern brasserie led by Tom Klussendorf who used to be the chef at Cafe Parti during the last couple of years. He aims for tasty and healthy dishes with a focus on organic and local products. The centerpiece is undoubtedly the rotisserie with farm chicken, roasts and, in season, pheasant! Of course there is also a wide range of vegetarian dishes and there will also be a selection of dishes for those with gluten allergies or for those who want to eat food with low carbohydrates. Besides that, something to really look out for, will be the exquisite wine list at the restaurant! Both the Cafe and the Restaurant have a spacious terrace overlooking the new park that was built along the Stadshal. A lovely oasis in the center of Ghent where you can enjoy delicious products, a wide selection of beers and the environment. The Belfort Stadscafe and Restaurant are situated beneath the Stadshal on the Emile Braun square in Ghent.
