Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great place to stop for coffee and to people watch on this busy corner of Bruges near Saint Salvator’s Cathedral. Outdoor pavement seating. Friendly staff.

Just returned from a two year delayed weekend to our beloved s only to find our absolute favourite restaurant is no more. It’s now sadly yet another tourist nuougat shop. We really loved this restaurant and the fabulous food not to mention our wonderful witty...host. If anyone knows where the owner has moved to or whether he’s opened up elsewhere please message!More

Unfortunately our favourite place to dine in Bruges is no more. They have now closed the restaurant doors during this pandemic. This is now a nougat shop where you can also have a drink. We loved our meals here and what a shame, it was...such a wonderful place to eat.More

I had an amazing lunch experience here with a group of 5. It was rainy and chilly out and the atmosphere inside was warm, cozy, and intimate with the fireplace going. We got the tourist 3 course menu for €18.50. The food was excellent and...well worth the price. There was a soup starter, then protein choice (I had the steak) salad and frites, and the dessert. I had a delicious sangria with it. The service was very friendly and couldn’t have been better. My friends all loved their food and we couldn’t find anything wrong. Great experience all around. Will definitely be back.More

We did not eat here but “we can maybe do an omelette” does not constitute a vegetarian friendly restaurant

We ordered two daily menus (17 euros each) and two moules and frites (24 euros each). While the mussels were expensive, I'm fine with paying for what I read in the menu, even it's clearly overpriced. I don't complain with the quality of my lunch:...both the mussels and the menu were good, yet they were quite standard preparations. However, I can't accept being billed 16 euros for two litres of water without having been shown the drinks menu when I ordered : I just asked for water, I expect to pay it something in the range between 3 and 5 euros, for sure not 8. Service was a bit slow, but the driver of my grading is the fundamental unfairness of the owners behavior.More

This is a pretty restaurant with good food for meat eaters. However, it says it is vegetarian friendly and it is not. There was a vegetable soup as a starter and when I asked about the main course, as there was nothing on the menu,...the lady thought and then said they had some quiche. Got the impression it was the staff's left over lunch. I had some cheese croquettes as a main course. No offer to make the salad larger or help in any way. I was eating a la carte so they could have discussed the price, but instead I had 2 starters. Bread is sliced bread no butter and water is only sold no tap available. Also, unless you want a bottle of wine it is a glass of house red or white. Very basic. Such a shame as it is a pretty place and could be better.More

During a solo trip to Bruges, I was made to feel very welcome. I had the set menu and the steak was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Thank you very much for having me.

Book to ensure you get a table at this lovely small restaurant. The food is great and the tourist menu is such good value. The service was great fun too.

We got recommended this place years ago having tried to book somewhere else nearby, and after being unlucky, we then asked the restaurateur where SHE would go. She said here. We booked at lunchtime for that evening a couple of days ago, The duck was...great. The turbot was off, but the replacement North Sea waterzooi was delicious. We had a good bottle of wine, kir aperitifs, shared a pudding and had a Calvados each. Service was delightful, as was the atmosphere, as we chatted to a Canadian and his Belgian girlfriend at the adjacent table. To be picky, I don't like salmon in a fish stew- I like white fish and prawns. But hey, I'm not knocking any stars off for that. We had a thoroughly lovely evening, and the price was fair.More

Visited this restaurant many times over 30 years. Food is great, you can pick from the menu or go for a tourist three course meal. Lovely family small business atmosphere. Toni the owner is a fantastic host. Our waitress Ermelinda was very helpful too. To...avoid disappointment I suggest booking a table as it is small and get busy.More

Firstly, to the negatives: hard to book even ringing at the allocated times elicited no reply. One of us went and booked on the day. However, the 3 course tourist menu was excellent value and the mains were top quality.

Needed to book (the day before). Very friendly and helpful waitress. We had the Tourists three course menu which was adequate in terms of quantity but very good quality. The restaurant is small and cosy.

We stopped here for lunch and got one of the last two tables. It's a small restaurant and seems to be pretty popular as well. We did the "tourist deal" which is a pretty decent deal for two people. You get soup with bread, a...main dish of meat with frites and salad, and a dessert all for, I think, about 18.50 per person. Overall the food was pretty good. It wasn't amazing and I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back or maybe if I did, I would order differently. However, as I said, the tourist deal is hard to beat and it has a nice atmosphere.More

A true traditional gem in the city of Brugges, we tried to get in the first night we stayed but it was super busy so we arranged for the 2nd and we were not disappointed. Fantastic service, gorgeous food with a real sense of tradition...and authenticity of Brugges. Good value for money, polite attentive and efficient staff & great vibe.More
