We have never dined at a Michelin star restaurant before (the price, portions and the fussiness has always put us off in other places) but I would highly recommend Le Mystique. We had the four course set menu (though they bring out so many pre-...and post- dishes that it ends up being far more courses!). Every plate was really delicious, and we were completely full by the end of the meal. The price for the whole meal and drinks came out much less than you would expect, and far less than other Michelin star places in England. There was no fussiness or snobbery, servers were really attentive and kind, we felt at ease and spoiled by the experience. We will definitely return if we come to Bruges again!More

Everything was perfect. The food amazing and the service very friendly. The beef with this incredible salt on it, the ceviche and the scallops marvellous and the dessert fantastic. OMG! I cannot express how amazing this place is in words! Second time we have been from 23-27th December. It's hard to pinpoint one thing but really it's the staff. They are truly exceptional. Anthony the Sommelier is the centre piece. His enthusiasm and talent...is really fantastic. We had 2 x 6 course with wine tasting and it was exceptional. The skill and pride taken by the chef and all the restaurant staff is truly superb. The breakfast team of Eugene and Bishnu are again simply brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. Bishnu glides around effortlessly like a swan! We love this place and we are coming back in March!! Thank you all so very much. Mark and SarahMore

Our visit to this restaurant is absolutely up there with some of the best fine dining experiences we’ve had the pleasure of indulging in. From the second you walk into the hotel, where the restaurant is based, you are made to feel special. Service from...Anthony and Redgey (apologies I can’t remember how his name was spelt!) was top notch, they were attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about both wine and the menu. Even when one of us accidentally dropped a jug of jus and it spilt all over the table and smashed on the floor (we were all mortified!!) they were completely unfazed and handled it with utmost professionalism. The food was nothing short of divine, every single mouthful was exquisite and the chef and his team were clearly phenomenally talented and provided us with a first wedding anniversary meal we will never forget. Our only surprise of the evening was that they do not hold a Michelin star as they most definitely deserve one! Definitely worth a visit if you want an extra special meal while in beautiful Bruges and worth every penny you will spend.More

We stayed in the hotel, and were delighted to be able to eat at Mystique. Sadly, the food was not at the level we had expected for a Michelin 1* restaurant. The presentations were lovely and the service was excellent, but the food was a...disappointment. The lamb tajine seemed an odd choice in a French Belgian restaurant, and there was no option for another main. The dessert, with several presentations of strawberries, was very poor, especially considering the wonderful fresh strawberries we had with other meals. Clearly inferior to other restaurants in Belgium we visited that did not have 1* status.More

Clearly, if you do not order one of the 4, 5, or 6 course dinners, you are not a priority. First, we waited 20 minutes for a menu. We were not offered a wine menus, but asked if we wanted a glass of champagne. We...ordered two glasses of Tattingers. The Amuse Bouche we were given were various fried foods that were bland. Although we each ordered appetizers and main courses, the tables around us who had the chef’s courses were given preferred treatment. After my first glass of wine, I had to glad a waiter to order a second glass. The Yellowtail appetizer I ordered (for $32) barely had any fish. There was, however, a large scoop of sorbet in the middle of he plat. Really? The portion was minuscule. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for each course. My husband ordered the polenta with white asparagus appetizer (for $26), which was good, but nothing special. My mullet main course was also good, but not wonderful. We are traveling and have had meals in Amsterdam, Brussels, and now Bruges. The mean we had last night at.a restaurant recommended by our hotel (and far less expensive) was superior.. I don’t understand the good reviews this restaurant, which clearly felt tired, has received.More

Elegant surroundings, excellent food, superb service, what more could you ask for? We decided to go for the six course taster menu with wine pairings and was not disappointed, Anthony our sommelier was top notch. A memorable wedding anniversary dinner and highly recommended experience.

I'm glad we turned up up early, since pre-dinner drinks were almost as enjoyable as dinner itself. We enjoyed a wonderful, interesting selection of gins in a grand, 'old-world' setting, followed by an excellent, traditional dinner formally served by a friendly, courteous waiter. Dinner at...Le Mystique did not disappoint in any way & can be highly recommended (though it was less memorable & far less fun than the Bruut bistro we visited the following evening).More

A fantastic evening celebrating our special occasion. We had booked the 4 course tasting menu but were delighted with several chefs courses in addition which were all outstanding in both flavour and presentation. Particularly enjoyed the scallops with thai coconut jus, the beef which was...cooked to perfection and the beautifully paired wines. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. There was a young man who was especially wonderful - I am only sorry his name escapes me. If you are considering fine dining in Bruges this is an excellent choice.More

Myself and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary here at Le Mystique and we have both come away feeling hugely impressed! While making the reservation a few months ago, I had made the restaurant aware that my wife was pregnant and we therefore had some...specific dietary requirements. The chef and the maître d' went to great lengths to accommodate, right down to the use of yoghurt in the appetisers! Me and my wife are so grateful that such time and care was taken when considering our menu. The service thereafter was very much in keeping with the example I have just shared. Very personable, very friendly and very calm. The atmosphere as a whole was elegant and lovely, with a beautifully decorated and warm dining area filled with the sound of soft piano music and reflective light coming from the gorgeous chandeliers. The food itself was an absolute dream! We enjoyed the four course set-menu (which was more like 8 when you take into account the appetisers and petit fours, etc) and each and every morsel was beautifully presented, beautifully balanced and absolutely delicious. You can tell that the restaurant makes the most of brilliant seasonal produce as each ingredient tasted so fresh and in harmony with everything else on the plate and in the menu. I would also just like to thank Anthony for his fantastic selection of wines following one after the other in such a clever way. Each wine really did pair so well with each course in the menu (particularly the Petit Verdot with the beef fillet, in my opinion) and his explanation of place and thought process behind each decision was so special to listen to and enjoy. We would really like to thank everyone at Le Mystique for such a beautiful evening and for an anniversary that we shall never forget! Thank you.More

We have been trying to get to this resturant for many years, but all of our failed attempts to get to Bruges resulted in us also having to cancel eating here. But having finally eaten here, wow is it worth the wait. So let's just...deal with the main grumble from the reviews below. This restaurant is expensive. I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world, and they are in a different price bracket, but what you are paying for is the experience, of which the food is one element. That said, the food here is outstanding. We went for the 6 course taster menu, with pairing wines. Neither my wife or I drink red wine, but the staff were able to pair whites for each course, and all worked beautifully with the food. It was almost worth going for the wine alone. The courses come at a nice speed, and having sat down at 7, we left just after 10:30, having been spoiled through the various courses that demonstrated just how clever the menu, chef and the Sommelier are. The service is outstanding, and Anthony, Redgy and Philipe waited and hosted beautifully throughout the night. Yes the money is a lot, but for a meal we will never forget, it was totally worth every penny. If you are in Bruges and love food, or have a special occasion to celebrate, I would eat here without hesitation.More
